Human Papillomavirus Types 16, 18, and 31 Share Similar Endocytic Requirements for Entry

ABSTRACT Human papillomavirus type 18 (HPV18), one of the HPVs with malignant potential, enters cells by an unknown endocytic mechanism. The key cellular requirements for HPV18 endocytosis were tested in comparison to those for HPV16 and -31 endocytoses. HPV18 (like HPV16 and -31) entry was independent of clathrin, caveolin, dynamin, and lipid rafts but required actin polymerization and tetraspanin CD151, and the viruses were routed to the same LAMP-1-positive compartment. Hence, the viruses shared similar cellular requirements for endocytic entry.

A pesar de arrastrarse algunos asuntos anclados en la tradición, los parámetros de representación en torno a lo patológico se renovaron, y las imágenes gestadas en este contexto reflejan muchos de los cambios acontecidos a nivel tecnológico, científico y social, enlazando con el ideario del progreso burgués. Voimauttavaa valokuvausta ja äitien tarinaa : toimintatutkimus A-klinikalla asioivien äitien ryhmätoiminnasta

Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkastellaan voimauttavan valokuvauksen menetelmää käyttämällä A-kli-nikalla asioivien äitien tarinoita heidän lapsuudestaan, elämästään sekä unelmistaan naisena ja äitinä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan sitä, miten äidit kokevat voimaantuvansa tämän valokuvausmenetelmän avulla. Tutkimus jakautuu teoreettiseen ja empiiriseen osaan. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastelen Paulo Freiren teoriaa sekä voimaantumisteoriaa. Teoreettinen osuus käsittää lisäksi lyhyen katsauksen taiteellisten menetelmien käytöstä sosiaalityössä sekä erityisesti voimauttavan valokuvausmenetelmän käytön merkitystä sosiaalityön työvälineenä. Working the fields of big data : Using big-data-augmented online ethnography to study candidate–candidate interaction at election time

The paper proposes big-data-augmented ethnography as a novel mixed-methods approach to studying political discussions in a hybrid media system. Using such empirical setup, the authors examined candidate–candidate online interaction during election campaigning. Candidate–candidate interaction crossing party boundaries is scarce and occurs in the form of negative campaigning via social media, with the shaming of rival candidates and engaging in battles with them. The impact of children’s socioemotional development on parenting styles: the moderating effect of social withdrawal

This study focused on associations between children’s socioemotional development (prosocial behaviour, internalizing and externalizing problems) and parenting styles (affection, behavioural control, and psychological control), and the moderating role of children’s social withdrawal (as a temperamental characteristic) in these associations. Children’s socioemotional development (n = 314) were rated by teachers at three-time points (grades 1–3). Parents completed questionnaires measuring their parenting styles at the same three-time points. The level of social withdrawal was obtained at the end of kindergarten from teachers’ reports.
