Corrigendum: Unirationality of Hurwitz Spaces of Coverings of Degree ≤5

We correct Proposition 3.12 and Lemma 3.13 of the paper published in Vol. 2013, No.13, pp.3006-3052. The corrections do not affect the other statements of the paper. In this note, we correct a flow in the statement of Proposition 3.12 of [1] which also leads to a modification in the statement of Lemma 3.13 of [1]. We recall that in this proposition one considers morphisms of schemes X ?→π Y ?→q S, where q is proper, flat, with equidimensional fibers of dimension n and π is finite, flat and surjective. An overview on bounded elements in some partial algebraic structures

The notion of bounded element is fundamental in the framework of the spectral theory. Before implanting a spectral theory in some algebraic or topological structure it is needed to establish which are its bounded elements. In this paper, we want to give an overview on bounded elements of some particular algebraic and topological structures, summarizing our most recent results on this matter.

Common fixed points in cone metric spaces

In this paper we consider a notion of g-weak contractive mappings in the setting of cone metric spaces and we give results of common fixed points. This results generalize some common fixed points results in metric spaces and some of the results of Huang and Zhang in cone metric spaces.

A fuzzification of the category of M-valued L-topological spaces

[EN] A fuzzy category is a certain superstructure over an ordinary category in which ”potential” objects and ”potential” morphisms could be such to a certain degree. The aim of this paper is to introduce a fuzzy category FTOP(L,M) extending the category TOP(L,M) of M-valued L- topological spaces which in its turn is an extension of the category TOP(L) of L-fuzzy topological spaces in Kubiak-Sostak’s sense. Basic properties of the fuzzy category FTOP(L,M) and its objects are studied.

In this paper we will consider, in the abstract setting of rigged Hilbert spaces, distribution valued functions and we will investigate, in particular, conditions for them to constitute a "continuous basis" for the smallest space $\mathcal D$ of a rigged Hilbert space. This analysis requires suitable extensions of familiar notions as those of frame, Riesz basis and orthonormal basis. A motivation for this study comes from the Gel'fand-Maurin theorem which states, under certain conditions, the existence of a family of generalized eigenvectors of an essentially self-adjoint operator on a domain $\mathcal D$ which acts like an orthonormal basis of the Hilbert space $\mathcal H$. Representation Theorems for Indefinite Quadratic Forms Revisited

The first and second representation theorems for sign-indefinite, not necessarily semi-bounded quadratic forms are revisited. New straightforward proofs of these theorems are given. A number of necessary and sufficient conditions ensuring the second representation theorem to hold is proved. A new simple and explicit example of a self-adjoint operator for which the second representation theorem does not hold is also provided.

Decoupling on the Wiener Space, Related Besov Spaces, and Applications to BSDEs

We introduce a decoupling method on the Wiener space to define a wide class of anisotropic Besov spaces. The decoupling method is based on a general distributional approach and not restricted to the Wiener space. The class of Besov spaces we introduce contains the traditional isotropic Besov spaces obtained by the real interpolation method, but also new spaces that are designed to investigate backwards stochastic differential equations (BSDEs). As examples we discuss the Besov regularity (in the sense of our spaces) of forward diffusions and local times. Inner functions and local shape of orthonormal wavelets

Abstract Conditions characterizing all orthonormal wavelets of L 2 ( R ) are given in terms of suitable orthonormal bases (ONBs) related with the translation and dilation operators. A particular choice of the ONBs, the so-called Haar bases, leads to new methods for constructing orthonormal wavelets from certain families of Hardy functions. Inner functions and the corresponding backward shift invariant subspaces articulate the structure of these families. The new algorithms focus on the local shape of the wavelet.

Varieties of representations of virtual knot groups in SL2(C)

Abstract We study the local structure of the variety of representations of a virtual knot group in SL 2 ( C ) near an abelian representation ρ 0 . To such a representation is attached a complex number ω and there are three cases. If ω and ω −1 are not roots of the Alexander polynomial, there are only abelian representations around ρ 0 . If ω is a root and ω −1 is not, there are only reducible representations. If both ω and ω −1 are roots and certain homological conditions hold, there are irreducible representations.
