Social Learning among Transplant Event Volunteers

Volunteering in adapted sports competitions has not been studied as much as in other competitions. Survey data from volunteers in a supportive role at the European Transplant Sport Week 2016 in Finland were analysed to report the way involvement in the event increased knowledge of transplantation. Through social learning theory, the aim of the study was to report the associations between changes in knowledge, training and volunteering experience of supportive role volunteers. Intra-foot coordination between center of pressure (COP) of the ball and heel of the foot in single leg standing and inter-foot coordination of the right and left foot during bipedal stance was examined as a function of postural stance (two legs, one leg, and toe postures), footwear (barefoot, different area based high heel shoes) and postural training (ballet group and regular exercising group). Effectiveness of low-energy extracorporal shock waves for chronic plantar fasciitis

Summary Over a period of 4 years we performed a prospective randomized trial on 100 patients in order to compare the effects of low-energy extracorporal shock-wave therapy (ESWT) in the treatment of painful heel (chronic plantar fasciitis). Patients in group I were treated three times at weekly intervals with 1000 impulses of 0.08 mJ/mm 2 given around the heel spur. Group II received treatment three times with 10 impulses of the same energy density at weekly intervals. Follow-up examinations were done at 12 and 52 weeks, respectively.
