Infections with cytomegalovirus (CMV) can cause severe disease in immunosuppressed patients and infected newborns. Innate as well as cellular and humoral adaptive immune effector functions contribute to the control of CMV in immunocompetent individuals. None of the innate or adaptive immune functions are essential for virus control, however. The aim of the present study was to investigate overweight adolescents’ self-perceived weight, body dissatisfaction, and weight control behaviour during 1994–2010 in Finland.Methods. The country-representative, cross-sectional data of 15-year olds were obtained from the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children (HBSC) study, conducted in 1994 (; males: 48%), 1998 (; 49%), 2002 (; 50%), 2006 (; 47%), and 2010 (; 48%).Results. This article aims to analyse Francesco Maria Molza’s not certainly attributed novella VII. Even though the text was inspired by one of Franco Sacchetti’s short stories, in the final section the author inserted a quotation-translation of Poggio Bracciolini’s facezia 143. The quotations, translations and reworkings of Bracciolini’s text demonstrate the Renaissance writer’s narrative and stylistic abilities.

Thus, it evaluates examples of particular texts that reveal the multiplicity of theatrical registers and techniques, with regard to the procedures of character- or situation- building and the breaking of the communicative conventions.

Traditionally, the Catalan language has been divided into two great dialectal area: West and East. It was Milà i Fontanals who first established in 1861 such classification of Catalan dialects, based on the criterion of unstressed vowels: the Western dialects keep a, e and o in unstressed syllables, whereas Eastern dialects have evolved into the neutral vowel. Once these criteria have been applied, it has been found that the isoglosses built on the three phonetic phenomena described above are not superimposed, and therefore do not coincide. This article analyzes the structures of «ésser» + participle in old Catalan. It highlights the diversity of constructions that may constitute this hind of construction (compound tenses, copulatives and passives). It analyzes the methodological problems derived from structural ambiguity, and points explains the evolutionary ways that language has established to solve the problems generated by formal syncretism.

Objectives To investigate the prognostic value of B-mode and Power Doppler (PD) ultrasound of the median nerve for the short- and long-term clinical outcomes of patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Methods Prospective study of 135 patients with suspected CTS seen 3 times: at baseline, then at short-term (3 months) and long-term (15–36 months) follow-up. At baseline, the cross-sectional area (CSA) of the median nerve was measured with ultrasound at 4 levels on the forearm and wrist. PD signals were graded semi-quantitatively (0–3).
