The article aims to deepen a fundamental and much debated profile in relation to the special rite of the Italian patteggiamento. In particular, the Author, in the light of an analysis of the undoubted particularities of the judicial mechanism of application of penalty upon request of the parties, intends to focus on the essence and the operation that the judgment rule assumes, respectively, in the ordinary cursus of criminal proceeding and in therevision, trying to offer an interpretative reconstruction that is able to reconcile the (substantial) needs of justice and the (formal) reasons for systematic coherence.

Analysis of fluid flow through porous media based on x-ray micro-tomographic reconstructions

This thesis deals with creeping fluid flow through fibrous porous materials. Permeability through a porous medium is a measure of the ability of the material to transmit fluids. For testing and demonstration purposes the permeability values of a few fibrous heterogeneous materials, namely synthetic non-woven felt, wet pressing felt, cardboard, newsprint and hardwood paper, were measured experimentally. Reconstructions of the same materials under similar compression states were captured by x-ray micro-tomography. On modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mappings and an application to integral equations

Abstract We introduce the notion of a modified α-ϕ-fuzzy contractive mapping and prove some results in fuzzy metric spaces for such kind of mappings. The theorems presented provide a generalization of some interesting results in the literature. Two examples and an application to integral equations are given to illustrate the usability of our theory.

In this paper, our aim is to widen the prevailing foundations of conceptual modeling theories and practices, particularly in the context of information systems development. The approach shifts the focus from the link between a model and the modelled reality to the link between human cognition and the model. Our approach combines theoretical issues of different disciplines relevant to conceptual modeling.
