Comparison between sodium dodecylsulphate and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide as mobile phases in the micellar liquid chromatography determination of …
2004
The retention behaviour of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) using micellar mobile phases of sodium dodecylsulphate (SDS) is studied and compared with that observed with micellar mobile phases of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). A liquid chromatographic procedure for the determination of acemetacin, diclofenac, indomethacin, ketoprofen, naproxen and tolmetin in pharmaceutical preparations is described. The proposed system uses a Kromasil C18 analytical column and a solution of 0.15 M SDS at pH 3 with 10% 1-propanol as mobile phase. Under these conditions, the studied NSAIDs elute between 6 and 10 min at a 1 mL min(-1) flow rate. Limits of detection (LOD) are lower than 0.…
Monitahoisten vaatimusten keskellä: Yksinhuoltajaäitien epätyypilliset työajat ja työn ja perhe-elämän yhteensovittaminen
2020
Cross-Talk Correction Method for Knee Kinematics in Gait Analysis Using Principal Component Analysis (PCA): A New Proposal
2014
International audience; Background: In 3D gait analysis, the knee joint is usually described by the Eulerian way. It consists in breaking down the motion between the articulating bones of the knee into three rotations around three axes: flexion/extension, abduction/adduction and internal/external rotation. However, the definition of these axes is prone to error, such as the "cross-talk'' effect, due to difficult positioning of anatomical landmarks. This paper proposes a correction method, principal component analysis (PCA), based on an objective kinematic criterion for standardization, in order to improve knee joint kinematic analysis. Methods: The method was applied to the 3D gait data of …
Combining Digitization with Healthcare Service Processes : Value Co-creation Opportunities Through Standard Work
2017
The study explores some implications of digitized healthcare services for value co-creation opportunities and work standardization and introduces DARIO, a value co-creation model of digitized services. The key development is the model’s focus on service processes that emerge through standardized work, providing opportunities for value co-creation. The DARIO model seeks to combine the theory of value co-creation and operations through lean standard work. The digitization of healthcare services is typically discussed from technological, medical science or customer perspectives, but opportunities for professionals to participate or to perform in the value co-creation process are less widely st…
Context Standardisation for Learning, Education and Training
2008
This paper presents a new specification to describe the context of learning environments. It provides suggestions how this specification should be discussed and further developed using the concept of social standardisation.
Language in globalised interactive business: adaptation vs. standardisation
2017
We investigate language-related choices made in online firms characterised as 'interactive' and having multiple and varying audiences, in both consumer and business marketing environments. Online language choices and their relatedness with firm strategic and tactical behaviour have little received scrutiny. Using survey data, we investigate the role language plays in online firms. We scrutinise whether or not firms significantly adapt to their targeted markets through language and how such adaptive or standardising behaviour relates with firm internationalisation level, and furthermore, if this behaviour relates with how firms interact with their environment. When studying how firms interac…

A consumer-based measurement of tourism innovation
2006
SUMMARY The present paper reviews the innovation literature related to tourism and examines the twin problems of operational definitions and measurement of innovation in the tourism sector. A conceptual model is then proposed by which the most relevant aspects of innovation and the most relevant aspects of the “tourism experience” can be integrated conceptually, and which can guide the development of related operational definitions and measurements and lead to a standardization of, and therefore an ability to aggregate, tourism innovation statistics across products, providers, markets and geopolitical regions. The model first categorizes innovations along two dimensions: an “invention-adopt…
Software and Standards in an Emerging Domain
2010
This paper considers the software market in the field of e-Learning and Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) through observing standardization developments in the domain. A model of software market evolution suggests that observations on development and deployment of standards in the domain indicate the status on the market. As the model holds, in a mature phase, level of standardization is high and the number of competing standards low. The result of the study is, there appears to be a market, but a heterogeneous one, with hesitation on dominant designs and an overall modest level of standards adoption. Content standardization enables the (re)use of the learning content in multiple formats w…
A Usability Evaluation of an Electronic Health Record System for Nursing Documentation Used in the Municipality Healthcare Services in Norway
2014
Published version of a chapter in the book: HCI in Business. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/978-3-319-07293-7_67 The paper presents a usability evaluation of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) of an Electronic Health Record System (EHR). The topic of interest was to explore the system's usability in the context of nursing process documentation. A cognitive walk through approach was used. The data were analyzed with content analysis and the results show that challenges identified were related to navigating and finding information in the system. Even though there were problems in progressing from one phase to another in nursing process documentation, the syste…
