Perspektywa szkolna i środowiskowa standardów profilaktyki społecznej
2018
IMPLEMENTATION OF A QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM IN A TRAVEL AGENCY
2014
The present research refers to the major problems existing in the Romanian tourism, namely, "manufacturing" and commercialization of certain products non-compliant with the user’s requirements in terms of quality. In tourism and hospitality industry, quality can be judged on the extent to which the service received meets the customer’s expectations. So, the quality is important for both customers and managers of various travel agencies, as it can contribute to making better products at lower costs. Based on theoretical approaches on quality management of tourist services, this paper aims to analyze the activity of the largest travel agency in Romania - Happy Tour and assess the possibilitie…

Applying health promoting sports club standards in the Netherlands
2014
This study explores health promotion activity of Dutch sports clubs by using the Health Promoting Sports Clubs (HPSC) standards, which are developed in Finland and here applied to the Dutch sports context. The standards consist of 23 items which cover different perspectives on health promotion. The standards form an overall HPSC index, which is used to create health promotion profiles for the sports clubs. 17 sports clubs from the municipality of ‘s-Hertogenbosch participated in this study, of which 42 club officials (1-6 per club) evaluated their own club on all HPSC standards on a five-point Likert scale. Per club, the average score on each standard was calculated. The average on the HPSC…
A Proposal of Process Fragment Definition and Documentation
2012
This paper focuses on the field of Situational Method Engineering (SME) for the construction of agent-oriented design processes. Whatever SME approach a method designer wants to use, he has to manage two main elements: the (method or process) fragment and the repository where it is stored. Specific fragment definition and documentation are fundamental during these activities, for new process composition, and for the consequent system design activities. This paper aims at illustrating a proposal of fragment definition and documentation. This proposal is aimed to be an input for the IEEE FIPA Design Process Documentation and Fragmentation working group and, as regards our own research work, t…
A new set of standards for in–situ measurement of bromine abundances in natural silicate glasses: Application to SR-XRF, LA-ICP-MS and SIMS techniques
2017
Measuring the low bromine abundances in Earth's materials remains an important challenge in order to constrain the geodynamical cycle of this element. Suitable standard materials are therefore required to establish reliable analytical methods to quantify Br abundances. In this study we characterise 21 Br-doped glasses synthesized from natural volcanic rocks of mafic to silicic compositions, in order to produce a new set of standards for Br analyses using various techniques. The nominal Br contents (amounts of Br loaded in the experimental samples) of 15 of 21 glasses were confirmed within 20% by instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA). Using this new set of standards, we compare thr…
Reliability, validity and performance determinants of the military simulation test for the assessment of anaerobic performance in soldiers
2020
Introduction: Measurements of physical fitness have been identified as one of the most important research priorities in the military. Currently, the physical fitness tests of The Finnish Defence Forces (FDF) do not include a valid and reliable anaerobic test. In order to develop job-related task simulation tests, the purpose of the study was to determine the reliability and validity of a high-intensity military simulation test (MST), which is designed to assess the task-specific anaerobic performance of soldiers. The MST includes typical combat-related maneuvers while wearing a 20 kg combat load. Methods: 22 male cadets (22.5 ± 0.8 years) volunteered to participate. The MST was performed th…
Employees’ adherence to information security policies: An exploratory field study
2014
The key threat to information security comes from employees who do not comply with information security policies. We developed a new multi-theory based model that explained employees' adherence to security policies. The paradigm combines elements from the Protection Motivation Theory, the Theory of Reasoned Action, and the Cognitive Evaluation Theory. We validated the model by using a sample of 669 responses from four corporations in Finland. The SEM-based results showed that perceived severity of potential information security threats, employees' belief as to whether they can apply and adhere to information security policies, perceived vulnerability to potential security threats, employees…
