Hydatidosis is a zoonotic disease; human infection occurs through the consumption of food and water contaminated with the eggs of parasites of the Echinococcus type. While the liver is the most common site of infection, involvement of the musculoskeletal system is extremely rare. In the context of musculoskeletal involvement, the spine is the most commonly infected site, while the muscles are rarely infected and account for approximately <1% of cases. It has been suggested that muscles provide an unsuitable environment for the parasite, because of the presence of lactic acid. Abstract Purpose Children with rhabdomyosarcoma(RMS)of the bladder/prostate can be treated by radical or organ sparing surgery both in combination with chemotherapy ± radiation therapy. In this retrospective study we analyzed the outcome with special attention to radical surgery and urinary diversion (UD). Material and Methods 24/32 patients with RMS of the genitourinary tract had RMS of the bladder (n=14) or prostate (n=10). 8 patients were stage II, 11 stage III and 5 stage IV. Ultrasound did not demonstrate a gall-bladder but a sickle shaped, dense echo with a distal adjoining echo-free zone. Computed tomography revealed air in the gall-bladder lumen as well as intramural and pericholecystic air pockets, findings pathognomonic for emphysematous cholecystitis. Background: We present a series of skin-sparing mastectomies (SSMs) with skin reduction and immediate breast reconstruction to treat large and ptotic breasts. The technique combines oncological mastectomy with immediate subpectoral implant placement as a single-step procedure. Methods: Data was collected from a prospective database from February 2009 to April 2011. A total of 24 patients with macromastia or pronounced ptosis fulfilled the criteria for skin-saving mastectomy. Abstract The primary mammary chondrosarcoma corresponds to less than 0,5% of the mammary malignancies. For the period ranging from 1967 to 2014, only 18 cases were reported in the literature. A 41 year old woman found a hard nodule on her external right superior quadrant/axillary prolongation through breast self-examination. The vacuum-assisted core biopsy (VACB) revealed “high grade extra-skeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma”. A skin-nipple-sparing mastectomy with the insertion of a mammary expander was performed.
