Economic Crisis, worker’s health and social protection
2023
Objective The aim of this paper is to analyse the individual and contextual factorsthat could affect worker’s mental and physical health during economic downturn. This paper fills the gap in the literature that addresses the link between crisis, physical and mental health. Methods Bivariate, machine learning method and multi-level regression analysiswere performed to explore the determinants of European Worker’s mental andphysical health. Machine learning method is dedicated to the predictors ofmental and physical health problems based on a classification algorithm, random forest model. Since the respondents of our data come from differentEuropean countries, the database has a hierarchical form…
Introducing usability heuristics for mobile map applications
2013
In this paper, a set of heuristics for evaluating the usability of mobile map applications is introduced. We developed the heuristics by exploring the present generic heuristics and then forming new theory-based heuristics. Usability specialists tested the heuristics by evaluating the usability of a mobile map application with both generic and domain-specific heuristics. As a result, more usability problems were found with the proposed domain-specific heuristics. In addition, based on the evaluators’ views the initial domain-specific heuristics were further developed. We conclude by proposing domain-specific usability heuristics for evaluating the mobile map applications. peerReviewed
An Improved Hierarchical ACA Technique for Sound Absorbent Materials
2011
This paper presents an improved adaptive cross approximation (ACA) approach developed in conjunction with the Hierarchical format matrix and the GMRES solver. A novel scheme to generate the cluster tree (based upon preliminary considerations of the prescribed boundary conditions) and an improved ACA algorithm (approximating the system matrix for mixed Robin conditions) are described. The asymptotic smoothness property of a kernel generated by a linear combination of two asymptotic smooth kernels is demonstrated. Numerical results show the new approach to be up to 50% faster than the conventional ACA approach.
Review of Particle Physics
2020
The Review summarizes much of particle physics and cosmology. Using data from previous editions, plus 2,143 new measurements from 709 papers, we list, evaluate, and average measured properties of gauge bosons and the recently discovered Higgs boson, leptons, quarks, mesons, and baryons. We summarize searches for hypothetical particles such as supersymmetric particles, heavy bosons, axions, dark photons, etc. Particle properties and search limits are listed in Summary Tables. We give numerous tables, figures, formulae, and reviews of topics such as Higgs Boson Physics, Supersymmetry, Grand Unified Theories, Neutrino Mixing, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, Cosmology, Particle Detectors, Colliders, …
CLIL Implementation in Greece : Empirical Findings from 2006 to 2020
2023
Abstract Despite the increasing interest in CLIL in Greece over the past decade, Greek CLIL research is largely absent from international review studies. This systematic review focuses on primary and secondary education, and examines peer-reviewed empirical research on CLIL implementation in Greece from 2006 to 2020. A total of 33 items are reviewed using qualitative Content Analysis. Organized according to commonalities shared by their foci, the reviewed items highlight three main research areas of CLIL implementation in Greece: (1) CLIL project evaluation, (2) CLIL students’ development, and (3) CLIL teachers. The reviewed studies suggest that CLIL implementation in Greece tends to be qua…
Modélisation des objets historiques selon la fonction, l'espace et le temps pour l'étude des dynamiques urbaines dans la longue durée
2010
The proposed principle for understanding the urban fabric is based on considering the town as a set of complex objects, taking a systemic approach. The town system used to study the urban fabric over large time spans is composed of three sub-systems relating to historical objects from the level of the excavation to that of the former urban space: function (social use), space (location, surface area and morphology) and time (dating, duration and chronology). The historical object is the analytical unit of the space studied. The purposed model allows urban changes to be observed. The originality of this procedure lies in its approach whereby it is possible to start not from the mapping of a p…

Teolingvistika dwadcatʹ let spustâ
2020
At the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries intensive research was conducted at the intersection of two sciences: theology and linguistics, which gave scientists the opportunity to raise the question of the possibility of allocating theolinguistics in the linguistics section. At the beginning, there were discussions and debates about the very term “theolinguistics”, its definitions, directions, methods of research in theolinguistics, and the status of theolinguistics as a scientific discipline. The present article attempts to briefly present the twenty-year history of theolinguistics of the 21st century. The paper also describes the main directions of research and draws attention to the role …
El model lèxic culte de Constantí Llombart
2020
Typology and Representation of Alterations in Territorial Units: A Proposal
2018
Abstract This article proposes a typology of boundary changes in territorial units at two points in time. The different types of changes are organized in a hierarchy and represented homogeneously, independently of the number of territorial units involved and of the changes to them. Each alteration is described precisely and unambiguously, and it is codified to allow the information to be treated automatically. In addition to providing efficient storage of the information about these changes, a canonical representation facilitates the automatic detection of inconsistencies in the database. At the same time, the typology allows us to define backward and forward equivalence rules, which helps …
