Recent studies devoted to neuroprotection have focused on the role of the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) system in regulating neuroinflammatory processes which play a key role in the neurodegenerative processes observed in Alzheimer's disease (AD) by inducing glial cell overactivation and impairing neurotransmission. Tāpēc uzņēmumi ar vien biežāk izvēlas dokumentu digitalizāciju nodot ārpakalpojuma uzņēmumam. Optiskas rakstzīmju pazīšanas (OCR) sistēmas prototipa izstrāde

Attēli mūsdienās bieži tiek izmantoti, lai attēlotu vai pārsūtītu tekstuālu informāciju, bet šo informāciju attēlos nav iespējams vienkārši izmantot, piemēram rediģēt vai meklēt tajā tekstu. Šim nolūkam ir nepieciešamas optisko rakstzīmju pazīšanas (OCR) sistēmas, kas tekstu no attēla pārveido par datorā rediģējamu tekstu. Bakalaura darbā tiek apskatītas OCR sistēmas prototipa izstrādei nepieciešamās metodes, kā arī aplūkota pašreizējā situācija attiecībā uz teksta atpazīšanu latviešu valodā. Darba rezultātā autors ir izstrādājis OCR sistēmas prototipu, kas spēj attēlā atpazīt latviešu valodas simbolus, kā arī izmanto latviešu valodas modeli, lai uzlabotu atpazīšanas rezultātu.

International audience; Focal dermal hypoplasia (FDH, Goltz syndrome, MIM: #305600) constitutes a rare multisystem genetic disorder of the skin, skeleton, teeth and eyes with considerable variation in the clinical features. FDH is transmitted as an X-linked dominant trait and is caused by mutations in PORCN. In males, hemizygous PORCN mutations are lethal in utero. Around 300 cases have been reported in the literature to date. About 10% of them are males presenting either Klinefelter syndrome (karyotype 47, XXY) or mosaicism of a postzygotic mutation. OCR pielietojumu iespējas ir plašas – kā vienu no biežāk izmantotajām var minēt dokumentu digitalizēšanu – tomēr brīvā dabā uzņemtās fotogrāfijās ar skaitļiem OCR precizitātei vēl joprojām ir vieta izaugsmei. AbstractGenetic risk factors for autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have yet to be fully elucidated. Postzygotic mosaic mutations (PMMs) have been implicated in several neurodevelopmental disorders and overgrowth syndromes. We systematically evaluated PMMs by leveraging whole-exome sequencing data on a large family-based ASD cohort, the Simons Simplex Collection. We found evidence that 11% of published single nucleotide variant (SNV)de novomutations are potentially PMMs. We then developed a robust SNV PMM calling approach that leverages complementary callers, logistic regression modeling, and additional heuristics. Common birthmarks can be an indicator of underlying genetic disease but are often overlooked. Mongolian blue spots (dermal melanocytosis) are usually localized and transient, but they can be extensive, permanent, and associated with extracutaneous abnormalities. Co-occurrence with vascular birthmarks defines a subtype of phakomatosis pigmentovascularis, a group of syndromes associated with neurovascular, ophthalmological, overgrowth, and malignant complications. This paper presents an improvement of control flow attestation (C-FLAT) for Linux. C-FLAT is a control attestation system for embedded devices. It was implemented as a software executing in ARM’s TrustZone on bare-metal devices. We extend the design and implementation of C-FLAT through the use of a type 2 Nanovisor in the Linux operating system. We call our improved system “C-FLAT Linux”. Compared to the original C-FLAT, C-FLAT Linux reduces processing overheads and is able to detect the SlowLoris attack.
