The present research aimed to develop and test a theoretical model that links players' perceived justice of the coach to a more optimal motivational climate, which in turn increases players' team identification and cohesion, and results in lower levels of social loafing in female sport teams. The essay focuses on the legitimacy of assisted suicide in Italy and in England and Wales, particularly with regard to patients suffering from severe pain from incurable or terminal illnesses. In two recent cases (Cappato and Nicklinson), both Italian and English judges suggested to the Parliament to modify the current state of the law, without making a declaration of incompatibility with Article 8 of the Convention. The paper compares the approach of Corte Costituzionale and UK Supreme Court to the issue, revealing the ambiguity hidden behind those common decisions.

The first objective to use chemotherapy is to kill cancer cells. However, it is common knowledge that these drugs can also damage healthy host cells, especially immune cells, and thus impair the endogenous antitumor response. Here, we focus on the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy on tumor cells and immune cells. It is not enough to simply kill cancer cells, and causing immunogenic cell death will impair the adaptive immune system's ability to fight the remaining cancer cells. On the other hand, the killing of immune cells can also enhance tumor growth. Although ganciclovir (GCV) is most often used in suicide anticancer gene therapy, the mechanism of GCV-induced cell killing and apoptosis is not fully understood. We analysed the mechanism of apoptosis triggered by GCV using a model system of CHO cells stably transfected with HSV-1 thymidine kinase (HSVtk). GCV-induced apoptosis is due to incorporation of the drug into DNA resulting in replication-dependent formation of DNA double-strand breaks and, at later stages, S and G2/M arrest. GCV-provoked DNA instability was likely to be responsible for the observed initial decline in Bcl-2 level and caspase-9/-3 activation. Despite strong cross-sectional support for links between social-contextual characteristics and abuse and neglect, few longitudinal studies have tested relations between these risk factors and substantiated rates of abuse/neglect.
