Il patrimonio tessile

Il saggio analizza un'ampia rassegna di manufatti tessili, in gran parte inediti, reperiti nelle chiese di Petralia Soprana. Viene esaminato nella sua totalità il patrimonio di paramenti sacri custodito negli edifici sacri della cittadina Madonita, collezione di abiti liturgici prodotta in un arco temporale che va dalla metà del XVI al XIX secolo. Il consistente numero di opere seriche analizzate, sia prodotte a telaio, che ornate con preziosi ricami, ha permesso la realizzazione di un nutrito repertorio di moduli decorativi.

Can we automate expert-based journal rankings? Analysis of the Finnish publication indicator

The publication indicator of the Finnish research funding system is based on a manual ranking of scholarly publication channels. These ranks, which represent the evaluated quality of the channels, are continuously kept up to date and thoroughly reevaluated every four years by groups of nominated scholars belonging to different disciplinary panels. This expert-based decision-making process is informed by available citation-based metrics and other relevant metadata characterizing the publication channels. Joku kysäisee pian ”What about the Finnish Annals?”, johon vastataan yleisesti positiivisin ja myöntyvin myhäilyin. Kansainvälisesti lehti muistetaankin monilla lempinimillä osittain johtuen sen alkuperäisestä pitkästä nimestä ”Annales Academiæ Scientiarum Fennicæ Series A. I. Mathematica”. De-naturalizing the “predatory”: A study of “bogus” publications at public sector universities in Pakistan

Predatory publishing has recently emerged as a menace in academia. University professors and researchers often exploit this practice for their economic gains and institutional prestige. The present study investigates such existing predatory publishing practices in Pakistani public sector universities using Bourdieu’s (1991) concept of symbolic violence. For this purpose, we analyzed 495 articles published by 50 university professors in the social sciences and humanities over the period 2017-2021.
