Co-digestion of energy crops and industrial confectionery by-products with cow manure: batch-scale and farm-scale evaluation.
2002
The possible co-digestion of energy crops and industrial confectionery by-products with cow manure was evaluated firstly, through long-term batch experiments and secondly, in a farm-scale digester. In batch assays, digestion with mesophilically digested cow manure as inoculum resulted in specific methane yields (m3 kg−1 VSadded waste) of 0.35 for grass hay (particle size <1.0 cm); 0.26 for oats (0.5 cm) and 0.21 for clover (2.0 cm) harvested at vegetative stage and 0.14 (2.0 cm) for clover harvested at flowering stage. Specific methane yields (m3 kg−1 VSadded waste) for confectionery by-products were 0.37 for chocolate, 0.39 for black candy and 0.32 for confectionery raw material. Ou…
Does Culture Matter? : Measuring Cross-Country Perceptions of CSR Communication Campaigns about COVID-19
2022
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought several challenges to businesses and societies. In response, many corporations have supported local communities and authorities in the management of the pandemic. Although these initiatives, which can be considered forms of corporate social responsibility (CSR), were highly coupled with explicit CSR communication campaigns, little is known about whether these campaigns were effective. Previous research indicates that culture can shape people’s perceptions of CSR initiatives and communications, suggesting that businesses pay attention to careful consideration of cultural norms for effective CSR communication. However, the COVID-19 pandemic as a new CSR setti…
Frequency of CD8+ T Lymphocytes Specific for Lytic and Latent Antigens of Epstein–Barr Virus in Healthy Virus Carriers
1999
Abstract We investigated CD8 + T cell frequencies of five different Epstein–Barr virus-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitopes located within proteins of the replicative cycle and the latent state in healthy long-term virus carriers with IFN-γ enzyme-linked immunospot assay. Frequencies of the HLA-A3-restricted epitope RVRAYTYSK (RVR) whose minimal length was mapped in this study to amino acid position 148–156 of the immediate-early protein BRLF1 were compared with those of a further known HLA-A3-restricted epitope within EBNA3A, RLRAEAQVK (RLR). Determination of frequencies of CD8 + T lymphocytes directed against lytic antigen epitope RVR revealed that only one of eight donors recognized …
Experimental P-T-ro Measurements of Supercritical Mixtures of Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, and Hydrogen and Semiquantitative Estimation of Their …
2007
The P-T-ρ behavior of the CO2-CO-H2 system was studied in the supercritical region under operative conditions close to those adopted to perform hydrogenation and hydroformylation reactions in dense CO 2, thus providing new interesting information on this fluid mixture. Experiments were performed in a fixed volume reactor in the temperature range from 298 K to 343 K changing the density and the composition of the fluid phase. The one-component (Hildebrand) solubility parameter of the mixture was estimated from experimentally measured P vs T profiles, and its dependence on the density and composition of the system was analyzed to study the antisolvent effect of the permanent gases. We have fo…
Suppression of humoral antibody formation against sheep red blood cells by infections with HSV-2 and the influence of mouse cytomegalovirus
1987
HSV-2 infections suppress the antibody response to HSV-1 but do not impair the mouse cytomegalo virus (MCMV) antibody generating system. In contrast, the sheep red blood cell (SRBC) IgM response is impaired by preinfections with HSV-2 but not with HSV-1. From the time kinetics of this suppression it can be concluded that only a certain submechanism "spills over" to the SRBC system. MCMV suppresses the antibody formation induced by HSV-1.
Replication of HSV-1 in murine peritoneal macrophages: comparison of various virus strains with different properties.
1984
The in vitro replication of eleven different strains of herpes simplex virus type 1 was studied in resident or thioglycollate-stimulated mouse macrophages. The strains of herpes simplex virus differed in the type of cytopathic effect, induction capacity for herpes simplex virus coded thymidine kinase and pathogenicity in the mouse. Herpes simplex virus replicated better in thioglycollate-stimulated macrophages than in resident macrophages. In vitro ageing of macrophages increased their replicative potency. Herpes simplex virus replicated better in macrophages from homozygous bg/bg C57/BL6J mice than in macrophages from their heterozygous littermates. Separation of macrophages on discontinuo…
Diving into the uncertainties of open innovation: A systematic review of risks to uncover pertinent typologies and unexplored horizons
2023
The open innovation paradigm has created substantial new opportunities for firms in various sectors. However, scholars have long expressed concern that open innovation also entails a dark side, which can result in value co-destruction. This concern highlights the importance of devoting attention to the perils of pursuing open innovation. Existing scholarship has given due credence to these perils by examining various associated risks and uncertainties. We observe that the extant literature is siloed and unorganized, which impedes future research. Positing that an endeavor to organize existing studies may enhance the pace of research in the area, we attempt to address this gap by reviewing t…
Kristne barnehager
2020
