Rapid development of Epstein-Barr virus-associated Hodgkin's disease after cessation of foscarnet therapy in an HIV-infected patient.
2000
Epidemiological features suggest a link between Hodgkin's disease (HD) and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection1. Indeed, EBV genome and expression of latent antigens can be found in Reed-Sternberg cells. In the majority of cases HD in HIV patients seems to be EBV-associated. We report on a 51-year-old HIV-infected patient in whom EBV-positive HD of mixed cellularity rapidly developed within one month after cessation of treatment with intravenous foscarnet.
Signals that determine internationalisation
2017
Master's thesis Business Administration BE501 - University of Agder 2017 International franchising business model is extensively and increasingly being used by entrepreneurs and firms seeking growth through geographic expansion. Thus, continued research efforts are needed to help entrepreneurs make wise choices when attracting investors into the business. Two popular theories (agency and resource scarcity) have been the basis on which international franchising has been explained. In this research, we expand on existing literature by focusing on signaling theory, answering the question “what are the signals that determine international franchising?” We answer this research question empirical…

The Limits to Free Speech on Social Media : On Two Recent Decisions of the Supreme Court of Norway
2020
In January 2020, two persons in Norway were condemned by a unanimous Supreme Court of Norway for comments posted on ‘closed’ Facebook groups. It also established a new sanctioning standard for hate speech. Paid Open Access UNIT agreement
Over the Cuckoo’s Nest : Towards a Nordic Model of the Responsible University?
2019
AbstractThis concluding chapter takes stock of the major elements, both empirical and conceptual, that underpin the case chapters presented in the book. The chapter is organised in three distinct sections. First, addressing a largely scientific audience, the chapter attempts to make conceptual sense of the findings from an organisational theory perspective. Second, it shifts focus to the wider community of practitioners (policy makers, advisers, university managers and administrators, etc.) by shedding light on the practical implications of the volume’s core findings for both policy and practice. Third, the chapter once again addresses an academic audience by sketching out the road ahead re…
Religionssociologiske rids : forelæsninger og arbejdspapirer om religionssociologi fra 2005
2006
Agder University College in Norway has marked 'religion, ethics and society' as one of its top priority subjects. It was therefore decided to supplement its professor of sociology of religion, Pål Repstad, with another professorship in the subject. This led to awarding Ole Riis the new professorship in 2005. Ole Riis came from Denmark, where he taught sociology of religion for several years at the University of Aarhus, and where he later contributed to establishing a full sociology programme at University of Aalborg, with an emphasis on methodology. The present book contains expanded and corrected manuscripts for a series of lectures held by Ole Riis. First and foremost, there is the openin…
LA TRANSIZIONE ALL’ETÀ ADULTA TRA I GIOVANI DEL NORD E DEL SUD ITALIA: LO STUDIO DI DUE CASI
2014
Introduzione.
Framing of Corporate Social Responsibility by Agribusiness in the USA and Europe : A study of whether the Corporate Social Responsibility disclosure …
2016
Master thesis Business Administration BE501 - University of Agder 2016 This thesis examines whether the CSR reports by agricultural biotechnology and agrochemical companies in the USA and Europe align to the stakeholders’ (NGOs and the external constituents) expectations. The focus is on issues of key importance to these firms and the stakeholders, including GMOs, chemicals, and the corporate control over seeds. Framing creates expectations, as framing theory indicates framing is to focus on some of the many facets through which an issue can be seen, and highlight them using salient words and phrases to render them significant. The analysis revealed that 16 companies prepare CSR reports: 8 …
Secure and scalable dataprocessing and communications for an Animal Tracking System
2003
Masteroppgave i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi 2003 - Høgskolen i Agder, Grimstad Modern technology is constantly being employed in new fields, by new industries and people. The cost of advanced technological equipment decreases continously, and equipment that was reserved for people and corporations with a lot of money has now become household products. This enables many interesting ideas and projects, Kitron Development’s radiocollar project being one of them. Kitron Development is involved in a project to track the position of animals by substituting the traditional bell collar with a collar that contains a GPS receiver. The collar transmits its position to a base station using…
