Globālo klimatu pārmaiņu rezultātā tiek prognozēti biežāki un ekstremālāki laika apstākļi īpaši pilsētu teritorijās. Ekstrēmāla karstuma parādība un pilsētu karstuma salas ir svarīgi faktori, kas ietekmē sabiedrības veselību un dzīves kvalitāti. Viens no risinājumiem karstuma salas ietekmes mazināšanā ir veģetācija, kas veicina iztvaikošanas un dzesēšanas efektu, taču pilsētās bieži vien to daudzums nav pietiekošs. This chapter ties together discussions of citizenship and social work practice in the context of growing populist and neoliberal political trends in Finland. These political trends are manifested in populist right-wing nationalist movements on the one hand, and in the neoliberal dismantling of the welfare state on the other. Representatives of the genus Salamandra occur in Europe, Northern Africa and the Near East. Many local variants are known but species and subspecies status of these is still a matter of dispute. We have analysed samples from locations covering the whole expansion range of Salamandra by sequence analysis of mitochondrial D-loop regions. In addition, we have calibrated the rate of divergence of the D-loop on the basis of geologically dated splits of the closely related genus Euproctus.
