The development of sentence complexity in the writing of young learners of L3 Spanish in Norway

This article explores the development of sentence complexity in the writing of young learners of Spanish as the third language (L3) learned in Norwegian schools. Learning to write in a foreign language is a complex process, and a novice learner will start to write simple sentences that develop over time. To track this development, the present study investigates texts written by learners of Spanish from the first and second year of upper secondary school (school years 11-12, ages 16-17) as their ordinary schoolwork. This research examines the following question: What can students’, parents’ and form teachers’ experiences of communication in individual subject curriculum (ISC) meetings tell us about student opportunities for participating in the planning of ISC? The aim of this thesis is to increase knowledge about the opportunities students have to participate in the planning of their learning which takes place in individual learning plan meetings. In-Service Teachers’ Perception of the Usefulness of Analyzing their Lower Secondary Students’ Written Argumentation

This study investigates how in-service teachers perceive analyzing their own lower secondary students’ written argumentation as useful. The participants were lower secondary school teachers enrolled in a university mathematics teaching program. The teachers planned and conducted a teaching lesson and wrote a report concerning the argumentation in their students' written work. The qualitative data consist of reports from in-service teachers and transcriptions of five follow-up interviews. Studenter som utdanner seg til familieterapeuter, skal tilegne seg kunnskap om aktuelle teorier og metodiske tilnærminger. De skal tilegne seg ferdigheter og utvikle et reflektert forhold til egne verdier og holdninger og hvilken betydning dette har i arbeid med mennesker. Veiledning av familieterapistudentenes kliniske arbeid i utdanningen er en viktig faktor for at studentene skal oppnå læringsutbyttet og kunne reflektere over sin personlige og sin profesjonelle utvikling.
