Adolescents' school-related self-concept mediates motor skills and psychosocial well-being.
2014
Background The health benefits of exercise participation and physical activity for mental health and psychosocial well-being (PSWB) have been shown in several studies. However, one important background factor, that is, motor skills (MSs), has largely been ignored. In addition, most of the existing research focuses on poor MSs, that is, poor MSs are often connected to poorer PSWB. The mechanism linking MSs and PSWB is unclear. However, a preliminary suggestion has been made that self-worth or self-perceptions might mediate the association between MSs and PSWB. Aim We investigated whether the self-concepts (SCs) of school-related physical education (SCPE), reading (SCR), and mathematics (SCM)…

The main aim of this research is to observe the positive effects of sexting in women’s wellbeing as a strategy to manage the negative effects of a condition of forced isolation. We collected all our data between November 2020 and March 2021 during a period of strict restrictions in Italy due to the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. In Study …

Factors associated with decision-making on prophylactic hysterectomy and attitudes towards gynecological surveillance among women with Lynch syndrome…
2020
AbstractTo prevent endometrial carcinoma in Lynch syndrome (LS), regular gynecological surveillance visits and prophylactic surgery are recommended. Previous data have shown that prophylactic hysterectomy is an effective means of cancer prevention, while the advantages and disadvantages of surveillance are somewhat unclear. We aimed to evaluate female LS carriers’ attitudes towards regular gynecological surveillance and factors influencing their decision-making on prophylactic surgery that have not been well documented. Pain experienced during endometrial biopsies was also evaluated. Postal questionnaires were sent to LS carriers undergoing regular gynecological surveillance. Questionnaires…

Poly-Victimization in Polish Adolescents: Risk Factors and the Moderating Role of Coping.
2018
This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of poly-victimization in Polish adolescents and assess factors associated with poly-victimization risk across different ecological levels. Periodontal outcomes of anterior fixed partial dentures on teeth treated with the biologically oriented preparation technique: A 6-year prospective c…
2021
Abstract Statement of problem One of the most frequent complications in participants with fixed partial dentures (FPDs) is the apical migration of the gingival margin, which may be associated with factors such as fit, gingival margin location, or tooth preparation type. The prevalence of the complication in participants restored with FPDs prepared by using the biologically oriented preparation technique (BOPT) is unclear. Purpose The purpose of this prospective clinical trial was to evaluate the clinical and biologic outcomes of FPDs on teeth prepared by using the BOPT, over a 6-year follow-up period. Material and methods Tooth-supported zirconia FPDs in the anterior region prepared by usin…
