Internationalization and Faculty Well-Being in Liberal Arts Colleges: An Often Neglected Issue in East Asia

In this chapter, we discuss the issues of faculty well-being in higher education and in particular, in the liberal arts colleges of East Asia. In so doing, we draw on the extant psychosocial models of well-being. We then examine and discuss the findings of a recent faculty survey conducted in Japanese colleges whose goal was to tap into faculty members’ perceptions of their institutions’ policies and their own teaching and research regarding internationalization and liberal arts education. In the final section of the chapter, we make some recommendations for policies that will promote faculty well-being in East Asian liberal arts colleges.

The event website quality is responsible for maintaining and attracting consumers and creating a positive attitude towards the brand. The purpose of this study was to examine key variables that affect the behavior of online sport event consumers. Given this scientific framework, the aim of this work is to investigate the level of satisfaction of consumer in buying food by means of online grocery shopping channels during this grave COVID-19 pandemic, starting from the description of the main factors that have characterized the online spending behaviour. El objetivo de este trabajo es identificar los factores determinantes del nivel de satisfacción laboral de los asalariados en España, haciendo especial hincapié en las diferencias de género y de nacionalidad. Para ello, se estima un modelo de respuesta múltiple ordenada, utilizando los datos de la Encuesta de Calidad de Vida en el Trabajo, para el período que abarca desde 2006 a 2010. International audience; This article analyzes the job satisfaction of primary school teachers inMadagascar. Based on the estimation of multilevel models, low wages and problems getting paid, job insecurity, lack of in-service training, high pupil-teacher ratios, and lack of basic infrastructure and teaching materials are identified as the main reasons for dissatisfaction. Principals' control of teachers' activities also adversely affects satisfaction, suggesting that, in Malagasy schools, neither school directors nor teachers have succeeded in adopting organizational cultures based on cooperation among their members. Objective Present study analyses the relationship between over-education and intrinsic, extrinsic and social facets of job satisfaction, and the moderation role of career enhancing strategies and job insecurity.
