In the present study, four high-pressure (HP) treatments (100, 200, 300, and 400 MPa) of 9 min duration were evaluated to assess their effect on the lipid fraction (fat-soluble vitamins and fatty acid profile) of an orange juice-milk and a vegetable beverage. After HP treatment, nonsignificant changes in vitamin D(2) and D(3) contents were observed for both beverages. An increase in vitamin E activity was observed in HP beverages when pressures >100 MPa were applied, mainly due to an increase in α-tocopherol content. Transient nutations decay: The effect of field-modified dipolar interaction

The anomalous behavior of transient nutations is experimentally investigated in a set of two-level $(S=\frac{1}{2})$ spin systems differing only in spin concentration. Our results show that the non-Bloch power dependence of the decay rate of transient nutations is a concentration-dependent effect, which is more and more pronounced in more and more concentrated samples. The experimental results are interpreted in the framework of the recent theory by Shakhmuratov et al. [Phys. Rev. Differential essential oil composition and morphology between perennial satureja species growing in Spain

Chemical composition of the essential oils obtained by hydrodistillation from the aerial parts of thirty six samples of perennial Spanish savouries (Satureja montana L., Satureja innota (Pau) G. López, Satureja cuneifolia Ten. and Satureja intricata Lange), was investigated by GC and GC-MS. A total of 72 compounds accounting between 98.25-99.55% of the total oil were identified. High content of carvacrol (59.72±1.50%) followed by g -terpinene (17.40±1.11%) were found in S.montana essential oils. Perfluorocarbons–graphene oxide nanoplatforms as biocompatible oxygen reservoirs

Abstract 3-Pentadecafluoroheptyl,5-perfluorophenyl-1,2,4-oxadiazole (FOX) molecules were attached onto a graphene oxide (GO) via a facile aromatic substitution in alkaline environment. This approach allows achieving high degree of functionalization under mild conditions. The covalent attachment of perfluoromoieties onto GO lamellae was confirmed by spectroscopic analyses. The performance of these nanoplatforms (GOF) as oxygen reservoirs was assessed at different concentrations and temperature. (S1a1), led to the isolation of three new tanzawaic acid derivatives, including penitanzchroman (1), tanzawaic acids Y (2) and Z (3), along with six known tanzawaic acid analogues (4-9), three known isochromans (10-12) and two known benzoquinones (13 and 14). Equilibrium and disequilibrium degassing of a phonolitic melt (Vesuvius AD 79 “white pumice”) simulated by decompression experiments

Abstract Equilibrium and disequilibrium degassing of a volatile phase from a magma of K-phonolitic composition was investigated to assess its behavior upon ascent. Decompression experiments were conducted in Ar-pressurized externally heated pressure vessels at superliquidus temperature (1050 °C), in the pressure range 10–200 MPa using pure water as fluid phase. All experiments were equilibrated at 200 MPa and then decompressed to lower pressures with rates varying from 0.0028 to 4.8 MPa/s.
