Validation of a temperature emissivity separation hybrid method from airborne hyperspectral scanner data and ground measurements in the SEN2FLEX fiel…

2008

This paper presents an assessment of the performance of a hybrid method that allows a simultaneous retrieval of land-surface temperature (LST) and emissivity (LSE) from remotely-sensed data. The proposed method is based on a synergistic usage of the split-window (SW) algorithm and the two-temperature method (TTM) and combines the advantages of both procedures while mitigating their drawbacks. The method was implemented for thermal channels 76 (10.56 µm) and 78 (11.72 µm) of the Airborne Hyperspectral Scanner (AHS), which was flown over the Barrax test site (Albacete, Spain) in the second week of July 2005, within the framework of the Sentinel-2 and Fluorescence Experiment (SEN2FLEX) field c…

Valutazione dell’alterazione con laser scanner negli ammassi a struttura orientata e nella diagnostica dei beni monumentali

2011

The applications of laser technology in the field of Rock Mechanics are at a stage of development that allow a reliable use for the reliefs of the mesostructure and for the morphological reconstruction of monuments in place of traditional techniques such as, for example, photogrammetry. The most recent research suggests that the laser may also allow assessment of characteristics such as roughness, which is known to affect the shear strength of discontinuities. Assessing the ratio between the energy of the reflected ray and the one emitted by the instrument, called "reflectivity (I)", it seems possible, also get information on the status of surface discontinuities or areas of historic monume…

Indagine sperimentale su nodi di tralicci in acciaio di travi reticolari miste

2009

Results of experimental tests on welded joints of steel truss of encased composite steel-concrete beams are presented. The welding of the inclined web bars to top bars, both of steel type B450C, and to bottom steel plate, the latter made of S355 steel type, are tested. Two analytical expressions for prediction of welding strength are derived: the one based on a resistance criterion and the other based on a limit domain of the welding section. Guidelines for choosing the effective dimensions of the fillet weld, necessary to determine the strength, are provided. A high precision digital scanner is used to validate the suggested guidelines to determine the geometrical characteristics of the fi…

The restoration of the North-East corner columns of Santa Maria La Nova the cloister in Monreale, Italy

2022

Lo scopo della presente ricerca è quello di descrivere i risultati dello studio, con la rappresentazione tramite scanner laser 3D, e del restauro scientifico, che ha previsto anche una reintegrazione, del gruppo di colonne posto nell'angolo Nord-Est del famoso chiostro dell'Abbazia di Santa Maria La Nova in Monreale, vicino Palermo, Italia (ultimo quarto del XII secolo) The purpose of the present research is to describe the results of the study, with 3D laser scanner representation, and scientific restoration, which also included reintegration, of the group of columns located in the northeast corner of the famous cloister of the Abbey of Santa Maria La Nova in Monreale, near Palermo, Italy …

The 3D modelling of musive surfaces for a monitoring protocol

2022

In this paper the use of three-dimensional digital methodology for scanning musive surfaces was investigated within the restoration intervention on a f…

Validity and reliability of measurements of the parameters of smile aesthetics: a comparison between digital and plaster models

2020

This study aims to evaluate the validity and reliability of the TRIOS3 Color intraoral scanner (3Shape A/S, Copenhagen, Denmark) and its associated Ortho Analyzer™ software in measuring parameters of smile aesthetics compared with measurements on plaster casts. The study sample comprised plaster casts and digital models obtained from 30 subjects. Height (H), mesiodistal diameter (MDD) and connecting space (CS) of the anterior teeth were measured with a digital calliper on the plaster models and with the orthodontic software on the digital models. Validity was assessed using a 2-tailed paired t-test; the reliability of measurements for intra-examiner was evaluated with the Intra-class Correl…

Technique of CT Examination

1981

The three study groups used the same CT systems during the investigation period : the EMI Mark I head scanner from 1975 until June 1977 and the EMI CT 1010 head scanner from the middle of 1977, with the Diagnostic Enhancement Package since March 1980. Special studies of the base of the skull were performed with an EMI CT 5005 body scanner (Department of Radiology, Klinikum Steglitz, Free Universityof Berlin).
