Evaluation of the iridocorneal angle with accommodation using optical coherence tomography

The changes in the iridocorneal angle structure during accommodation are assessed by means of anterior segment optical coherence tomography. Thirteen right eyes were included in the study. The device used for the measurement was the Visante® omni system. The stimuli were set up at different vergences (0.0 D, -1.5 D, and -3.0 D). The angle opening distance 500 and 750, the trabecular iris space area 500 and 750, and the scleral spur angle parameters were assessed at the nasal and temporal regions. Montlivaltia multiformis Taula (Scleractinia, Faviina, Montlivaltidae), formerly reported from the Carpatho Balkanic domain is described from Lower Aptian beds of the Prebetic Domain (SE Spain). Taxonomic attributes include the organisation of radial elements, septal trabeculae, carinae and endothecal elements while the external morphology of the coralla is fairly variable. The sedimentological context suggests a circalittoral environment also supported by palaecological features of the surrounding fauna. What is the origin of the Scottish populations of the European endemic Cherleria sedoides (Caryophyllaceae)?

Cherleria sedoides L. (Minuartia sedoides (L.) Hiern) is a montane perennial which, with some species in Minuartia sect. Spectabiles, is more closely related to Scleranthus than to other Minuartia species and is therefore best restored to the reinstated and redefined genus Cherleria. Reconstruction of the ancestral area of the clade containing C. sedoides suggests that it evolved in the Alps or the Balkan peninsula. The species now has an unusual distribution, being present in the mountains of southern Europe and Scotland but absent from the Arctic. Computer-aided diagnosis is developed for assessment of allergic rhinitis/rhinoconjunctivitis measuring the relative redness of sclera under application of allergen solution. PURPOSE To report a case of infectious necrotizing scleritis secondary to Aspergillus terreus after intravitreal injection therapy. METHODS This is a case report with literature review. RESULTS A 98-year-old woman receiving intravitreal aflibercept injections for neovascular age-related macular degeneration in the left eye presented with severe pain, redness, and purulent discharge at the injection site. Scleral buckling represents a valuable treatment option for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment repair. The surgery is based on two main principles: the closure of retinal breaks and the creation of a long-lasting chorioretinal adhesion.
