BACKGROUND: The research of alcohol consumption-related problems is a multidisciplinary field. The aim of this study is to analyze the worldwide scientific production in the area of alcohol-drinking and alcohol-related problems from 2005 to 2009. METHODS: A MEDLINE and Scopus search on alcohol (alcohol-drinking and alcohol-related problems) published from 2005 to 2009 was carried out. Purpose: To analyze the coverage and main bibliometric indicators of Anales de Pediatría in Scopus and Science Citation Index Expanded of the Web of Science (SCIE) databases. Material and method: The evolution of the journal production was identified according to the document types, collaboration indexes between authors and institutions, and citations, and impact indicators (number of citations, impact factor, 5-years impact factor and without self-citations, Scimago Journal Rank, quartile, h-index and most cited works). Sākot ar 2012. gadu Latvijas Universitātei (LU) ir pieejamas divas nozīmīgākās citējamības datubāzes - Web of Science un Scopus, kas ļauj analizēt LU personāla publikāciju citējamību. Publikāciju skaits citējamības datubāzēs ir viens no augstskolas kvalitātes un atpazīstamības rādītājiem. Publikācijas atrašanās citējamības datubāzē raksturo arī tās zinātnisko kvalitāti. Citēšana tiek uzskatīta par publikācijas zinātniskā nozīmīguma rādītāju un citējumi norāda uz autora ieguldījumu zinātnes nozares attīstībā. By 2030, the European Commission intends to halve chemical pesticide use and its consequent risks. Among pesticides, nematicides are chemical agents used to control parasitic roundworms in agriculture.
