The aim of this judicial and political analysis is to reveal Victor Schoelcher's decisive influence in the fight for equal rights and for the republic, in the French mainland as well as in its colonies. His well known fight against slavery was just a part of his humanist defense of the republican principles : Liberty, Equality, Fraternity. Schoelcher truly was a founder of the republic, taking part in the barricade insurrections against the 1851 coup and fighting against any kind of slavery or absolutism. Los diarios ABC y El Debate, los dos periódicos conservadores más importantes durante aquellos años, fueron muy activos en las protestas contra las reformas vinculadas con la enseñanza. Sus discursos se sumaban a la propaganda de la reacción y fortalecían la acción de colectivos y organizaciones. Se estudia la trayectoria vital de Eliseo Gómez Serrano, su condena a muerte y ejecución por la dictadura de Franco. Fue catedrático de la Escuela Normal de Alicante en las primeras décadas del siglo XX, renovador de la pedagogía. Fue concejal por Izquierda Republicana en el Ayuntamiento de Alicante durante la Segunda república y desarrolló un plan ambicioso de escuelas públicas, fue diputado por Izquierda Republicana en 1936 y fusilado en 1939. The colonial policy of the second Republic demonstrate a moderate assimilationist policy. The ideas of Victor Schoelcher are influential, but not entirely adopted. Indeed, Schoelcher fought for the application of common law to the colonies. Although the emancipated slaves of the four old colonies are under the rule of juridical assimilation, the specific status of the natives remains unchanged. The constitution of 1848 institutes a représentation of the colonies before the National Assembly, proclaims the unity and indivisibility of the Republic and the sovereignty of France over its colonies. The purpose of this article is to present the peasant movement in the Second Polish Republic in contemporary school history textbooks. On the basis of textbooks, students can learn that the peasant movement arose in Galicia in the late nineteenth century. In the Second Polish Republic there were a few parties named Polish People’s Party. For many years the main party was Polish Peasant party ,,Piast”. After Poland regained independence in 1918, it formed a part of several governments, most notably after the Lanckorona Pact and in the Chjeno-Piast coalition.
