Heavy flavour decay muon production at forward rapidity in proton--proton collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV

The production of muons from heavy flavour decays is measured at forward rapidity in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 7$ TeV collected with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The analysis is carried out on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity $L_{\rm int} = 16.5$ nb$^{-1}$. The transverse momentum and rapidity differential production cross sections of muons from heavy flavour decays are measured in the rapidity range 2.5 < y < 4, over the transverse momentum range 2 < $p_{\rm T}$ < 12 GeV/$c$. The results are compared to predictions based on perturbative QCD calculations.

Due to the l-doubling, the Q-branch is split into two subbranches characterized by either even or odd rotational quantum number j. Objective Mental Health Literacy (MHL) might play an important role in preventing depression. This study assessed the MHL level for depression of university students and its association with intentions toward preventive actions against depression. Participants: University students (n = 315) were surveyed online. Methods: MHL level and group differences were analyzed using t-tests and one-way ANOVA. To investigate the relation between MHL and the intention for preventive actions against depression, correlation and regression analyses were performed. A rare case of acute idiopathic colocolic intussusception in an adult patient

Abstract Adult intussusception is a rare condition that is frequently associated with malignancy and requires surgical approach. Symptoms are often non-specific and of subacute or chronic character. Therefore, computerized tomography (CT) scan is the most commonly used modality for identifying adult intussusception. A 51-year-old female presented with a 1-day history of increasing abdominal pain. Abdominal ultrasound and CT scan revealed intussusception. Intra-operatively, colocolic intussusception was present and laparoscopically reduced. A lead point was found neither intra-operatively nor in post-operative ileocolonoscopy and resection of involved bowel segments was not necessary.

Seasonal and diel patterns of mayfly (Ephemeroptera) drift in Korge stream, Latvia

A complex set of biotic and abiotic factors affects a drift. Mayfly drift has been extensively studied worldwide, but the manner in which the environmental factors interact is not completely clear. The aim of the present study was to characterise mayfly seasonal and diel drift patterns in relation to abiotic factors in a medium-sized lowland stream in Latvia.
