Employee violations of IS security policies are reported as a key concern for organizations. Although behavioral research on IS security has received increasing attention from IS scholars, little empirical research has examined this problem. To address this research gap, the authors test a model based on Rational Choice Theory RCT-a prominent criminological theory not yet applied in IS-which explains, in terms of a utilitarian calculation, an individual's decision to commit a violation. For a long time, the European Union (EU) has been described by many scholars and policymakers as a civilian and a normative power. This article argues that these concepts do not accurately capture the foreign policy behaviour of the EU as prescribed in the European Union Global Strategy (EUGS). It first situates EU identity and role played in international relations within role strain theory. The evolution of the euro-atlantic pluralistic security community: Impact and perspectives of the presence of American bases in Italy

The article analyses changes in the American global defense posture and the Italian exception to the current trend. It is argued that the changes in Italy cannot be fully understood unless they are analyzed in light both of the changes in the global strategies of the current leader, and of the regional framework in which those strategies are applied. The article proposes an evolutionary interpretation of the development of the American basing network and places the new American basing strategy in Italy within the context of the Euro-Atlantic pluralistic security community, which significantly influences the application and perception of that strategy.
