Ensiapukurssi aikuisen oppijan myönteisenä oppimiskokemuksena

Tässä laadullisessa tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan ensiapukurssia aikuisen myönteisenä oppimiskokemuksena. Tavoitteena oli selvittää, millaisista teki-jöistä aikuisen ensiavun oppijan myönteinen oppimiskokemus koostuu yli 20–vuotiaiden ensiapukurssilaisten mielestä Suomen Punaisen Ristin ensiapu-kursseilla. Myönteisiä kokemuksia tarkastelemalla pyrin löytämään yhteisiä tekijöitä opetukseen, joita ensiavun- ja terveystiedon kouluttajat voivat hyö-dyntää omassa työssään. The impact of children’s socioemotional development on parenting styles: the moderating effect of social withdrawal

This study focused on associations between children’s socioemotional development (prosocial behaviour, internalizing and externalizing problems) and parenting styles (affection, behavioural control, and psychological control), and the moderating role of children’s social withdrawal (as a temperamental characteristic) in these associations. Children’s socioemotional development (n = 314) were rated by teachers at three-time points (grades 1–3). Communicating work issues at home and home issues at work, also known as across-the-border (ATB) communication, is a part of everyday work and family interaction. This study focuses on the concept of ATB communication, using Work/Family Border Theory, according to which the boundaries between work and private life are seen as negotiated and shaped through social interactions and practices. We argue that through ATB communication, and especially by focusing on what is shared and how, employees can manage boundaries and achieve work-life balance. Tämän kandidaatintutkielman aihe on selkokielinen vuorovaikutus suomi toisena kielenä -oppijan ja äidinkielisen puhujan välillä. Selkokielistä vuorovaikutusta on tähän mennessä tutkittu hyvin vähän, kakkoskielisessä vuorovaikutuksessa ei Suomessa lainkaan. The purpose of the study is to explore physical education (PE) students’ social and emotional learning (SEL) and the meaningful learning experiences during the SEL course. In the teaching profession, understanding SEL is important because the guidance of learning and group dynamics is essentially an interactive social process. Teacher-child interaction quality and children's self-regulation in toddler classrooms in Finland and Portugal

This study examines the association between teacher–child interaction quality and children's self‐regulation in Finnish and Portuguese toddler classrooms. The participants included 230 Finnish (M = 29; SD = 3 months) and 283 Portuguese (M = 30, SD = 4 months) toddlers and their teachers (n = 43 Finland; n = 29 Portugal). The children's behavioural self‐regulation (attention, working memory, and inhibition control) was individually tested, and the teachers evaluated the children's self‐regulation skills in the classroom. This article presents the results of material studies focused on identifying and comparing the contents of the pigment palettes of two notable Finnish painters, Helene Schjerfbeck (1862–1946) and Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865–1931). The research methods used comprise energydispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (EDXRF) and polarised light microscopy (PLM). In addition, certain pigments have been identified in colour areas of the works using specular reflection FT-infrared spectrometry (FTIR) and Raman spectrometry. Deimatic displays, where sudden changes in prey appearance elicit aversive predator reactions, have been suggested to occur in many taxa. These (often only putative) displays frequently involve different components that may also serve antipredator functions via other mechanisms (e.g., mimicry, warning signalling, body inflation).
