Digital archaeological reconstructions usually at documenting the original position of blocks and architectural elements of the building, both the ones on site and those exhibited in museums. Digital survey and representation provide the opportunity to place the fragments into the reconstruction model of the building, thus making the understanding of their shape and function much easier. A relevant difference between past and present reconstructions is the representation of the context and the landscape. Orfeo o Tamiri? Cantori traci in Sicilia

Orpheus and Thamyris are connected on the literary and iconographic levels, but reveal several divergencies as well. On an early Sicilian krater and an early Paestan hydria from Selinous, the depictions of Orpheus and Thamyris respectively allow us to reconsider the significance of the two singers as symbol of the Thracian music, in the Sicilian context and evaluate the use of these figurative subjects on Sicilian vases. The identity of the two musicians is not clearcut; the focal point is the music, in particular the Thracian, which acquires a divine and regenerating value in relation to the theme of the Underworld.

The story of the metopes of Temple C at Selinus, from the discovery by S. Angell and W. Harris in the spring of 1823 to their landing in the port of Palermo, is well known trough Marconi studies. The aim of this paper is to analyze the exhibition history of Selinus reliefs, from the first arrangement in the Museum of the ‘Regia Università’ to their placement in the National Museum of Palermo (‘Museo Archeologico Regionale A. Salinas’ since 1977).

The review of bronze finds from the excavations carried out in the contrada Gaggera sanctuaries from 1888 until 1925 as well as in the sixties and seventies of the last century, and the reading of old excavation notebooks have allowed the identification of a huge number of unpublished weapons. This evidence has also been considered in relation to what has been published by Ettore Gabrici in the 1927 edition of the Malophoros sanctuary. The study better clarifies the finding context of these materials (from the sanctuary of Demeter Malophoros or from the sacred area of Zeus Meilichios) and provides an overview of the different types of weapons. Since 2021, the German Research Foundation has been funding a new interdisciplinary field project to investigate the urban fabric of the Greek colony of Selinous in a spatially comprehensive and diachronic perspective. The project aims at extending the existing model of the ideal Greek city by considering also the historically conditioned fractures in the urban development and the multiple transformations of the living space between the 7th and 3rd century BCE. La colonna "B" della Lex Sacra di Selinunte prescrive una procedura catartica connessa verosimilmente a casi di spargimento di sangue, soprattutto in ambito familiare. Essa ci mostra come a unire i diversi elementi cardine della procedura stessa sia il filo di uno scambio e un riconoscimento reciproco tra diversi livelli di socialità, che ha come unica inviolabile regola che l’applicazione delle prassi cultuali non contrasti con l’interesse generale della polis.
