Essence : Reference Architecture for Software Engineering - Representing Essence in Archimate Notation

Essence is a standard for working with methods in software engineering. As such, it can be seen as the reference architecture for software engineering. The Essence consists of the Kernel, and a notation called the Language. This representation is not widely known and likely hinders the adoption of the Essence. This paper represents the work-in-progress of representing the Essence using ArchiMate, the de facto notation for enterprise architecture. Visibility without voice: Media witnessing irregular migrants in BBC online news journalism

In the analysis of journalistic representation of irregular migration to Europe, rather little attention is given to the variation of modes and genres of journalism. Most studies focus on text in ‘old media’ and the news genre. This article analyses affordances of different modalities and genres of online journalism in framing irregular migrants. Media framing in BBC online news coverage of a mediatised conflict in Spain, defined as a ‘migration crisis’, is analysed with multimodal social semiotics. Tämä pro gradu-tutkielma käsittelee uuden kuvallisen representaation luomista ja sitä varten luotua uutta menetelmää. Työ pyrkii vastaamaan kysymykseen, kuinka luoda menetelmä, jonka avulla ymmärtää ja tulkita historiallisia tapahtumia. Menetelmä on kehitetty useiden taidelähtöisten menetelmien, kuten etnodraaman, historiallisen elävöittämisen ja etnografisen valokuvauksen pohjalta. Näitä yhdistämällä tämän pro gradu -tutkielman tekemisen aikana on luotu Madonreikäkamera-menetelmä, jonka mahdollisuuksia on testattu 12 työpajassa vuosina 2015 ja 2016. Itsemurhan taide : itsemurhan roolit modernissa ja jälkimodernissa taiteessa

Tutkielma kartoittaa itsemurhan esiintyvyyttä modernissa ja jälkimodernissa taiteessa ja pyrkii luomaan typologian niistä erinäisistä rooleista, joissa itsemurhan representaatio tällä reilun sadan vuoden aikajanalla esiintyy. Itsemurhan näkyvyydestä taiteessa tehty aiempi tutkimus on vähäistä ja painottuu modernismia edeltäneeseen taiteeseen, joten tutkielma pyrkii muodostamaan kokonaiskuvaa niukasti tutkitusta aihepiiristä. Tutkimuksen taustalla on ajatus siitä, että taide mahdollistaa itsemurhan kaltaisen tabun käsittelyn tavalla, jota arkikieli ei tue. Varjosta valoon? : fragmentteja naistaiteilijan asemasta, elämästä ja kokemuksista taiteen kentällä 2000-luvun Suomessa

Tutkielmani pääaiheena on millaisena naistaiteilijoiden asema taiteen kentällä 2000-luvun alun Suomessa näyttäytyy naistaiteilijoiden omien kokemusten, näkemysten ja aiheeseen liittyvän muun kirjallisuuden valossa. Lähestyin kysymystä erilaisten tekstien, osalle kuvanveistäjäliiton naisjäsenelle suunnatun kyselyn ja omien kokemusteni pohjalta heränneiden ajatusten kautta. Kirjoitelma koostuu kolmesta osasta. Ensimmäinen osa muodostuu eri lähteistä poimituista teksteistä, jotka käsittelevät naiskäsityksiä, naisen asemaa yhteiskunnassa, suomalaisia naistaiteilijoita, taiteen tekemisen tavoissa tapahtuneita muutoksia ja feminististä teoriaa.
