Abstract We submit a case report of a 78-year-old male came to our department for systolic heart, failure (EF of 25%). He has clinical history of recurring atrial tachycardia and atrial flutter previously treated in our department unsuccessfully with antiarrhythmic drug therapy. The echocardiographic evidence of left atrial enlargement (left atrium area 40 cm 2 ) and the clinical history of permanent atrial tachycardia has discouraged any attempt of substrate ablation. During the flight of Spacelab-1 a series of vestibular experiments was performed on the crew by a group of European investigators. Control experiments were carried out on the same subjects pre- and postflight. The tests included caloric stimulation of the ears, threshold measurements of response to linear acceleration, motion sickness provocative stimuli, vestibulo-ocular reflexes during linear and angular stimulation, estimation of the subjective vertical (luminous line measurements) and static ocular counterrotation at various tilt angles. The use of micellar liquid chromatography for the determination of diuretics in urine by direct injection of the sample into the chromatographic system is discussed. The retention of the urine matrix at the beginning of the chromatograms was observed for different sodium dodecyl sulphate (SDS) mobile phases. The eluent strengths of a hybrid SDS-methanol micellar mobile phase for several diuretics were compared and related to the stationary phase/water partition coefficient with a purely micellar mobile phase. Lai to atklātu, darbā ir analizētas 25 izrādes pusaudžiem, kas iestudētas pēdējo trīs teātra sezonu laikā.
