In this thesis we present an overview of some important known facts related to topology, geometry and calculus on metric spaces. We discuss the well known problem of the existence of a lipschitz equivalent metric to a given quasiultrametric, revisiting known results and counterexamples and providing some new theorems, in an unified approach. International audience; The diamond cone is a combinatorial description for a basis of a natural indecomposable n-module, where n is the nilpotent factor of a complex semisimple Lie algebra g. After N. J. Wildberger who introduced this notion, this description was achieved for g = sl(n) , the rank 2 semisimple Lie algebras and g = sp (2n).In this work, we generalize these constructions to the Lie algebra g = so(2n + 1). The orthogonal semistandard Young tableaux were defined by M. Kashiwara and T. Nakashima, they index a basis for the shape algebra of so(2n + 1). High Bias Voltage CZT Detectors for High-flux Measurements

In this work, we present the performance of new travelling heater method (THM) grown CZT detectors, recently developed at IMEM-CNR Parma, Italy. Thick planar detectors (3 mm thick) with gold electroless contacts on CZT crystals grown by Redlen Technologies (Victoria BC, Canada) were realized, with a planar cathode covering the detector surface (4.1 x 4.1 mm(2)) and a central anode (2 x 2 mm(2)) surrounded by a guard ring electrode. The detectors, characterized by low leakage currents at room temperature (4.7 nA/cm(2) at 1000 V/cm), allow good room temperature operation even at high bias voltages (> 7000 V/cm). Tutkielmassani analysoin Jyväskylässä sijaitsevan Amerikka-teemaisen Classic American Diner-ketjuravintolan interiöörin merkkikieltä esimerkkikuvien kautta. Puran interiööriä semioottisesta näkökulmasta Roland Barthesin esittämien kuvan retoriikan analyysin vaiheiden avulla, nostaen kuvista esille ideologioita.
Taavettilan riihi : rakennushistoriaselvitys

Taavettilan riihi on erityinen osa Jyväskylän yliopiston Seminaarinmäen kampusalueen rakennus- ja kulttuuri- perintöä. Nykyisin yli 180-vuotias rakennus on alkujaan toiminut riihenä, jossa on kuivattu ja puitu viljaa. Alun per- in riihi on ollut yksinäisriihi, jossa viljan kui vattaminen ja puinti tapahtui yhdessä kiuashuoneessa.1800-luvun lop- ulla rakennus tuli osaksi Jyväskylän seminaarin aluetta. 1900-luvun alussa riihi muutettiin museoksi seminaarin lehtori ja arkkitehti Yrjö Blomstedtin myötävaikutuksesta. Ryhtilä : rakennushistoriaselvitys Jyväskylän yliopiston Seminaarinmäen voimistelusalirakennuksesta

Vuonna 1895 valmistui harjun rinteelle seminaarin miesopiskelijoille tarkoitettu voimistelusalirakennus , joka nimetiin 1920-luvulla Ryhtiläksi lehtori Arvo ”Ryhti” Vartian mukaan. Ryhtilä on peruskorjattu alkuperäiseen asuunsa vuonna 1981. Rakennus on yhä tänä päivänä liikuntakäytössä lähes päivittäin. Vuoden 1843 koulujärjestys oli lisännyt huomattavasti voimisteluopetuksen tun- timäärää, jolloin myös voimistelusalien merkitys koulurakentamisessa oli alkanut kasvaa. Jyväskylän seminaarin mies- ja naisosastojen rakennukset valmistuivat vuosina 1879–1883 Jyväskylän keskustan läheisyyteen. Efficacy of Rapamycin as Inducer of Hb F in Primary Erythroid Cultures from Sickle Cell Disease and β-Thalassemia Patients.

Phenotypic improvement of hemoglobinopathies such as sickle cell disease and β-thalassemia (β-thal) has been shown in patients with high levels of Hb F. Among the drugs proposed to increase Hb F production, hydroxyurea (HU) is currently the only one proven to improve the clinical course of these diseases. However, Hb F increase and patient's response are highly variable, indicating that new pharmacological agents could be useful for patients not responding to HU or showing a reduction of response during long-term therapy.
