Progressive multifocal encephalopathy in a patient with non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML) is a rare and often fatal demyelinating disease of the central nervous system caused by John Cunningham virus (JCV). We present a case report of patient with non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma, who developed PML after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and rituximab-bendamustine therapy. JCV DNA was proven both in peripheral blood and cerebrospinal fluid. Patient with 4 years history of follicular lymphoma presented with progressing weakness in the right arm and leg and postural instability. Bovine seminal-ribonuclease (BS-RNase) is a member of the 'ribonucleases with special biological actions' family since it possesses specific anti-tumour, anti-spermatogenic and embryotoxic activities and exerts an immunosuppressive effect on T lymphocytes. In previous studies it was demonstrated that BS-RNase induced apoptosis in proliferating, malignant and normal cells and that telomerase activity loss also caused apoptotic death in neoplastic cells. Semi-feral local livestock populations, like Maremmana cattle, are the object of renewed interest for the conservation of biological diversity and the preservation and exploitation of unique and potentially relevant genetic material. The aim of this study was to estimate genetic diversity parameters in semi-feral Maremmana cattle using both pedigree- and genomic-based approaches (FIS and FROH), and to detect regions of homozygosity (ROH) and heterozygosity (ROHet) in the genome. Tirant achieves in the fiction an impossible dream even in reality. Uses the capital of Bosphorus as a symbol for a real New Rome and rescues an enclosure that in the Christian sphere becomes the heir of the ancient Empire. In this article we will analyze with detail the resources employed by Martorell to recreate the palace environment and value the contribution of the literary text as a source for History of Art.
Comparative biochemistry of CO2 fixation and the evolution of autotrophy

Carbon dioxide fixation is a polyphyletic trait that has evolved in widely separated prokaryotic branches. The three principal CO2-assimilation pathways are (i) the reductive pentose-phosphate cycle, i. e. the Calvin-Benson cycle; (ii) the reductive citric acid (or Arnon) cycle; and (iii) the net synthesis of acetyl-CoA from CO/CO2, or Wood pathway. Sequence analysis and the comparative biochemistry of these routes suggest that all of them were shaped to a considerable extent by the evolutionary recruitment of enzymes. AbstractThe regularity of the solution of the telegraph system with nonlinear monotone boundary conditions is investigated by two methods. The first one is based on D'Alembert-type representation formulae for the solution. In the second method the telegraph system is reduced to a linear Cauchy problem with a locally Lipschitzian functional perturbation; then regularity results are established by appealing to the theory of linear semigroups.
