Specimens of the trace fossil Gyrochorte from the Ordovician, Jurassic and Cretaceous of Utah, and the Pliocene of Spain are described. These occurrences expand the stratigraphic range of the ichnogenus, and allow for a re­examination of this paleoenvironmentally sensitive and puzzling trace fossil. The recognition of the penetrative characteristic of the trace is essential for a correct identification, as some trace fossils have been erroneously ascribed to Gyrochorte in the past. Experience of medical students mentoring in an acute geriatric unit: Use of evidence-based medicine

International audience; n a retrospective study, we studied the learning experience of second and third year undergraduate medical students in the acute geriatric unit of a University Hospital.Students who did not receive Evidence based medicine (EBM) classes had lower grades than those who did in the final theoretical and practical evaluations (p < .01).Our experience suggested that the implementation of EBM in the curriculum through small, structured semiology courses tailored to the specificities of the elderly improved Evidence based practices for undergraduate medical students. EBM should improve instruction and mentoring during undergraduate students' clinical rotation.

In a representative sample (n = 31) of patients with panic attacks and a cardiac anxiety syndrome, a prospective follow-up study after a 1-year interval was performed. At the follow-up assessment 33% of the patients were in remission, whereas the majority of patients had an unfavorable course. Avoidance behavior and female sexual status were found to be predictive for an unfavorable course. Within a matched-pair design controlled for age and sex, no difference between panic disorder with and without cardiac anxiety syndrome was observed in any psychosocial or psychopathological outcome variable. This result is an argument against the validity of the subtype cardiac anxiety syndrome.

We study the effect of contextual information obtained from a user’s digital trace on Web search performance. Contextual information is modeled using Dirichlet–Hawkes processes (DHP) and used in augmenting Web search queries. The context is captured by monitoring all naturally occurring user behavior using continuous 24/7 recordings of the screen and associating the context with the queries issued by the users. Because debaters may not be interested in educating voters but in gaining votes, this does not necessarily mean that debate viewers improve their knowledge (i.e., learning something that is correct).
