Broad Fe K emission lines have been widely observed in the X-ray spectra of black hole systems, and in neutron star systems as well. The intrinsically narrow Fe K fluorescent line is generally believed to be part of the reflection spectrum originating in an illuminated accretion disk, and broadened by strong relativistic effects. However, the nature of the lines in neutron star LMXBs has been under debate. We therefore obtained the longest, high-resolution X-ray spectrum of a neutron star LMXB to date with a 300 ks Chandra HETGS observation of Serpens X-1. The presence of the Javelin sand boa in Sicily has recently been confirmed. Here the morphological characters and sexual dimorphism of the Sicilian population of Eryx jaculus are presented. Seven meristic and six metric characters in 96 specimens from Sicily were examined. The results show that tail length, snout-vent length, the distance between nostrils and the number of ventral and subcaudal scales are different between sexes. The characters found in the Sicilian population of the Javelin sand boa resemble those of the African population (ssp. jaculus) rather than the Eurasian population (ssp. turcicus), but biomolecular studies are necessary to understand its taxonomic identity.

Breast cancer (BC) is the most common endocrine cancer and the second leading cause of cancer-related death in women. About 75% of BCs expresses high levels of estrogen receptors that sustain the tumor growth. Moreover, in BC estrogens prevent apoptosis induced by granzyme B released by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and NK cells through the production of the granzyme B inhibitor PI-9. As a consequence, cancer cells acquire the ability to escape immune surveillance’s signaling. Giacomo Serpotta (1656-1732) was a brilliant and highly skilled master of the sculptural art of stucco throughout Europe. He was born in poverty in Palermo, and his father was imprisoned shortly after he was born. The canonical critic and historian Antonio Mongitore praised him for his work and for his confident and almost frantic style of drawing, and for his considerable dilicatezza (sensitivity).
