A Novel Long-Term Graves’ Disease Animal Model Confirmed by Functional Thyrotropin Receptor Antibodies

2020

Introduction: A novel long-term murine model for Graves’ disease (GD) using repeated, long-term immunizations with recombinant adenovirus expressing the extracellular A-subunit of the human thyrotropin receptor (Ad-TSHR) was applied to evaluate the functional anti-TSHR-antibody (TSHR-Ab) profile. Methods: BALB/c mice received 7 immunizations with either 1010 plaque-forming units of Ad-TSHR or control Ad-GFP. Naïve (nonimmuized native) mice were also studied. Three 3-weekly immunizations were followed by 4-weekly boosts until the 7th immunization. Blocking (TBAb) and stimulating (TSAb) TSHR-Ab …

Untersuchungen zur Aktivittskinetik des Isoenzymes CK-MB im Serum nach Myokardinfarkt

1978

We investigated the activity kinetics of CK-total and CK-MB in 83 patients with proven myocardial infarctions. Serial serum samples were taken at intervals of 2--6 h. The activity of isoenzym CK-MB was determined by means of the immunological inhibition method. CK-MB activity was determined in all patients. The mean peak activity of CK-MB was 65 U/l (range: 9-241 U/l). At the time of peak CK-MB activity the mean percentage CK-MB activity was 13.2% (range: 3.4--21.7%). The CK-MB activity reached its peak at 17.4 h (range: 3.0--32.5 h) after the onset of retrosternal pain. This is 1.4 h after peak CK-total activity. The mean disappearance rate constant for CK-MB (n = 31) was found to be 9.3 X…

Hepatitis B virus in diabetic patients

1980

The presence of HBV markers was determined in 149 serum samples obtained from diabetic patients and was compared with a normal population. Diabetics have the same incidence of HBsAg but significantly higher anti-HBc antibodies. These differences were seen in the group of diabetics on oral hypoglycemic therapy. These results cannot yet be explained.
