A critical comorbidity of HIV infection is HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders (HAND). Although combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) is an effective treatment in blocking systemic viral replication, it is unsuccessful in reducing the incidence of HAND. HIV CNS damage, in the current cART era, can be associated to the presence of latently HIV-infected cells including microglia/macrophages and a small population of astrocytes. In this paper, a chromatograph which exploits the benefits of FID technology optimized for the high resolution detection of heavier hydrocarbon gas components is described. The components analyzed span from n-hexane to toluene. This paper shows the results of a scientific research in which a GNSS continuous monitoring system for earth-dam deformations has been developed, then, deformations have been related with reservoir water surface and level. The experiment was conducted near Bivona (Sicily, Italy), on the Castello dam (Magazzolo Lake). On the top of the dam three control points were placed and three GNSS permanent stations were installed. The three stations continuously transmitted data to the control centre of the University of Palermo. The use of ecological classification systems is becoming more and more widely used when studying phytoplankton. Grouping phytoplankton species into ecologically coherent groups allow to reduce redundancy and in this way, to handle a minor number of biological variables when investigating the ecological status of aquatic ecosystems. This paper presents some simulation based upon a dynamic model of a feed-drive within the structure of a CNC machine tool. A DC servomotor was considered as actuation device for the feed drive. For a given set of parameters for the position controller, two fuzzy types of fuzzy controllers were tested by means of simulation.
