The purpose of the present work is to build a suitable system dynamics model for goal dynamics in organizations, as proposed by Barlas & Yasarcan (2008). The proposed model does not bear any ambition of being exhaustive: the main objective of this paper is to propose a model of goal dynamics in which Goal Setting, Management by Objectives and Training are viewed as human resource practices able to enhance workers’ goal commitment, and therefore, improve organizational performance. The article is formed of two parts: the first one analyzes the main studies on supervision and group supervision made by national and international authors. The second one is dedicated to clinical reflections resulting from the study of two supervision group inside different institutions for mental health care.

Il malinteso, nella sua impalpabilità, si propone come vero protagonista del mondo contemporaneo. Esso si mostra nei suoi effetti e si nasconde nelle sue origini. Il malinteso appartiene al momento presente ma si rivela sempre in un secondo momento, quando degenera nel conflitto e nell’interruzione delle interazioni. One-year surveillance of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus in health-care setting, Palermo, Italy

Background: Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an emerging cause of infections outside of health care settings. We carried out a survey to determine the prevalence and characteristics of MRSA isolates (CA-MRSA, HA-MRSA) identified among in- and outpatients by the clinical microbiology laboratories of four general hospitals in Palermo, Italy during the period February-January 2010. Background: Antimicrobial resistance is a public health threat. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) patients are particularly at risk, due to the large use of invasive devices and antimicrobial treatment. Since 2014 an active surveillance program of multidrug-resistant organisms is in place in the five NICUs of Palermo, Italy. The article focuses on the double role of Giuseppe Toniolo as economist and promoter of the Catholic movement, dealing with one of his successful initiatives: ‘La Settimana sociale dei cattolici italiani’. The essay describes the project that aimed to popularize the Catholic social doctrine and that during its first years (1907-1908) resulted in three great meetings held in Pistoia, Brescia and Palermo. These events, that required a lot of work to Toniolo as scholar and leader of Catholic associations, met a great number of obstacles of political nature and, also of intellectual, doctrinal and regional origin.
