Circulatory reactions such as a drop in blood pressure, bradycardia, cardiac arrest, and even intraoperative death after insertion of the stem are well known events during total hip replacement. The present paper reports bone marrow intravasation after rise of intramedullary pressure in the femoral cavity during insertion of hip prostheses, demonstrated by intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography. In an animal study, the ultrasound echoes were identified as "mixed emboli" consisting of a core of bone marrow surrounded by thrombus. Consumer biases in the perception of organizational greed

This article extends current models of how consumers judge or perceive organizations as greedy by employing the theoretical framework of motivated moral reasoning. We show that inherent features of an organization (size and “black sheep” status) and its behavior (relative frequency) bias consumer perceptions of organizational greed. We use an experimental methodology, present subjects with vignettes describing different scenarios, validate our questionnaire using confirmatory factor analysis, and test our hypotheses by employing a general linear model with covariates. The study was aimed to test the mechanical strength, structural stability, and tissue reactions of optically amorphous and crystalline polyetheretherketone (PEEK) plates during a 3-year follow-up in vivo and in vitro. A study on heat stress in Mediterranean dairy sheep was undertaken with the objective to examine the relationship between milk production and heat stress, to estimate the additive genetic variances of milk production traits and heat tolerance, and to investigate the possibility of future selection for increased heat tolerance. Production data included 59,661 test-day records belonging to 6624 lactations of 4428 lactating ewes from 17 flocks collected from 1994 through 2003.
