The aim of the following investigation is the analysis of the evolution of Carmen Laforet’s poetics from the 1950s onwards. The Catholic conversion of the author entails a literary approach to themes that must be considered fundamental for the generación del medio siglo and that, although indirectly, determine the process of adherence of the author to the abovementioned group. Therefore, some short stories and novels written after 1950 and the novel La mujer nueva (1955) are analysed, with particular attention to the process of configuration of the main characters in the works under investigation.

Multipurpose space, the figuration of food is revealed, in various literary and pictorial works, a significant meeting point of nature and culture, real and fantastic, medium of multiple artistic projects. During the sec. XV, the thematic and symbolic correlation of food and literary figuration, between Orcagna, Burchiello, Sermini and Pulci, connotes comic languages aimed at the desecration of humanistic utopias and literary stereotypes. Sermini's novels, in the early decades of the fifteenth century, cooperated in the diffusion of irreverent and parodic languages in which anti-normative requests are lodged.
