Design and Characterization of Automated Color Sensors System
2014
International audience; The paper presents a color sensor system that can process light reflected from a surface and produce a digital output representing the color of the surface. The end-user interface circuit requires only a 3-bit pseudo flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in place of the conventional/typical design comprising ADC, digital signal processor and memory. For scalability and compactness, the ADC was designed such that only two comparators were required regardless of the number of color/wavelength to be identified. The complete system design has been implemented in hardware (bread board) and fully characterized. The ADC achieved less than 0.1 LSB for both INL and DNL. The…
Sketch of an automatic image based pollen detection system
2012
The ability of measuring accurately airborne pollen concentration in the environment is an important goal for palynology. It has been unsatisfactory for agile usage to date. Huge volumes of airborne particles prevent palynologists from opportunely processing statistically suitable information. Additionally, measurements from stationary pollen monitors cannot be accurately associated to individuals. In the context of computer vision, this paper presents the outline for the structure of an image based pollen detection system, under the framework of the Personalized Pollen Profiling and Geospatial Mapping project based on individual information of allergic patient profile measured at multiple …
Multispectral imaging: narrow or wide band filters?
2014
This is an Open Access article. This is the publisher’s PDF originally published in Journal of the International Colour Association: http://aic-colour-journal.org/index.php/JAIC/article/view/149 In every aspect, spectral characteristics of filters play an important role in an image acquisition system. For a colorimetric system, traditionally, it is believed that narrow-band filters give rise to higher accuracy of colour reproduction, whereas wide-band filters, such as complementary colour filters, have the advantage of higher sensitivity. In the context of multispectral image capture, the objective is very often to retrieve an estimation of the spectral reflectance of the captured objects. …
Semi-Regular Triangle Remeshing: A Comprehensive Study
2016
International audience; Semi-regular triangle remeshing algorithms convert irregular surface meshes into semi-regular ones. Especially in the field of computer graphics, semi-regularity is an interesting property because it makes meshes highly suitable for multiresolution analysis. In this paper, we survey the numerous remeshing algorithms that have been developed over the past two decades. We propose different classifications to give new and comprehensible insights into both existing methods and issues. We describe how considerable obstacles have already been overcome, and discuss promising perspectives.

Filter array-based spectral imaging - design choices and practical realization
2014
International audience; This talk discusses the practical difficulties encountered in the practical implementation of MSFAs imaging systems in 2014. We provide hints and solutions on several problems. We provide means of evaluation and criticise them. Although, we present recent results obtain at the University of Bourgogne.
