This article aims to explore the connection between the conflicts in information policies being observed during the present pandemic situ- ation and the potential abuse of automation technologies in the pro- cessing of information. PAINT : Pareto front interpolation for nonlinear multiobjective optimization

A method called PAINT is introduced for computationally expensive multiobjective optimization problems. The method interpolates between a given set of Pareto optimal outcomes. The interpolation provided by the PAINT method implies a mixed integer linear surrogate problem for the original problem which can be optimized with any interactive method to make decisions concerning the original problem. The parity violating Chern-Simons term in the epoch before the electroweak phase transition can be interpreted as a polarization effect associated to massless right-handed electrons (positrons) in the presence of a large-scale seed hypermagnetic field. We reconfirm the viability of a unified seed field scenario relating the cosmological baryon asymmetry and the origin of the protogalactic large-scale magnetic fields observed in astronomy.

La biografia di Filippo, che II si colloca nel contesto di un’Europa travagliata dalle guerre di religione e che si apriva al mondo, può essere letta attraverso gli occhi dei cronisti del tempo che spesso dipinsero il "rey prudente" come un sovrano pacifico nonostante le innumerevoli guerre da lui condotte nel corso di un lungo regno, che abbracciò quasi tutta la seconda metà del XVI secolo. Fondamentale è la ricostruzione della dimensione dinastica e familiare entro cui si svolgeva la vita politica nella Spagna e nell’Europa del XVI secolo, come anche la politica confessionale del sovrano, tesa alla difesa a oltranza del Cattolicesimo e alla lotta contro gli eretici e gli infedeli.

In 1949, Simone de Beauvoir cited the fairly unknown author Poulain de la Barre in an epigraph for The Second Sex (1949). When reading The Second Sex, one soon realizes that there are profound similarities between the two authors’ discussions of women’s situation. Both Poulain and Beauvoir view the subjection of women as a process that includes choice as well as force. Liberation necessarily requires overcoming opinions rooted in custom and prejudice. The article develops a comparison between the arguments of Poulain and Beauvoir in order to illuminate interesting features in the works of both authors. The Phylogenetic position of Daubentonia madagascariensis (Gmelin, 1788; primates, Strepsirhini) as revealed by chromosomal analysis

One of the major topics in primate evolution is the phylogenetic position of the bizarre Daubentonia madagascariensis (DMA, aye-aye). The principal points that have been discussed for many decades are whether the aye-aye is: (i) the sister group of primates; (ii) the sister group of strepsirhines; or (iii) the sister group of lemurs. Very little is known about Daubentonia evolution, particularly on the chromosomal background. The present report focuses on the chromosomal history of this species.
