Pandemia e Infodemia. Informazione, conoscenza, automazione.
2021
This article aims to explore the connection between the conflicts in information policies occurring during the present pandemic situation and the potential abuse of automation technologies in the processing of information. From a historical point of view, the connection between an effective elaboration of information and the development of automation technologies has been devised by authors such as Norbert Wiener, Claude Shannon and Alan Turing, at the very beginning of the modern theory of information. This seemed to be justified by historical circumstances that are still quoted in order to discipline and “militarise” the spreading of information during the pandemic. By taking reference to…

“Ciberneretica” simondoniana
2023
This paper analyses the reception of Norbert Wiener’s cybernetics in France with particular attention to the perspective proposed by Gilbert Simondon. The debate that has emerged since the 1950s among the philosophers of the so-called French Theory opens up the possibility of speaking of a revised cybernetics on the basis of the need to go beyond the structural analogy between living being and machine. The present paper investigates the relationship between Simondon and cybernetics by considering his 1953 manuscript, his two doctoral theses and his speech at the Royaumont conference in 1962. It also focuses on the concept of ecceità that Simondon uses in order to speak from the qualitative …
Algoritmi viventi tra Shannon e Simondon
2023
Almost a century after Turing’s machine was theorised, a formal definition of what an algorithm is has still not been found by scholars. The reasons given are varied and it is clear that this is a problem that is not easy to solve. Nevertheless, one of the least travelled paths is the one that envisages the hypothesis of an algorithm that does not exhaust its potential in automatism. Starting from the algorithm written and implemented by the mathematician Claude Shannon in the 1950s in a machine made up of a group of relays, a mouse-shaped sensor and a maze structured in squares, the following work aims to understand whether a certain creative and evolutionary capacity can be found in…
Condotte istintuali: il riso in Bergson come esempio di incontro tra meccanicismo e vitalismo
2022
The aim of this contribution is to trace in Henri Bergson's treatment of laughter a profound interconnection between mechanism and vitalism that Gilbert Simondon would take up in his work, particularly with regard to instinctual conduct.
L’esperienza raddoppiata. L’individuazione della memoria nell’era della transizione digitale.
2022
This contribution aims to reflect about the question of technology in Bernard Stiegler’s thought starting from a consideration about the original concepts of this branch in the twentieth-century philosophical thought with Gilbert Simondon and Martin Heidegger as founding fathers. A reflection halfway between metaphysics and politics to rethink the conditions of current state of existence and the possibilities in the future of overthrowing the hyper-industrial capitalist society.
