While ordinary touchscreen-based interfaces on urban explorer applications draw much of a user's attention onto the screen, visual and audio-haptic augmented reality interfaces have emerged as the two main streams for enabling direct focus on the surroundings. This paper focuses on improving network management and monitoring by the adoption of Artificial Intelli- gence techniques. In order to allow automated reasoning on networking concepts, we defined an accurate ontologi- cal model capable of describing as better as possible the networking domain. The thorough representation of the do- main knowledge is used by a Logical Reasoner, which is an expert system capable of performing high-level manage- ment tasks.

This study addresses issues related to the process of designing mathematical activities for kindergarten based on the constructs of playful learning and inquiry. The mathematical activities were designed for 5-year-old children in a Norwegian kindergarten setting. In order to address this design process, we focus at issues of mediating design principles and ideas to kindergarten teachers, who are the ones to orchestrate and implement the mathematical activities with children. A research and development project, Learning Communities in Mathematics (LCM)1 was designed to create opportunities for ‘co-learning inquiry’ between mathematics teachers in eight schools and didacticians in a university in Norway (UiA).
