Coupled cluster calculations of interaction energies in benzene–fluorobenzene van der Waals complexes

Benzene-fluorobenzene complexes are used as model systems to simulate the interactions of the SBB-HCAII protein-ligand complex. Using the second-order Moller-Plesset [MP2] and the coupled cluster singles and doubles including connected triple excitations models recently implemented with Cholesky decompositions we evaluate accurate interaction energies for several benzene-fluorobenzene van der Waals complexes. We consider edge-to-face interactions and compare the results to those from a recent MP2 study and to experimental findings. Fuzzy modeling of solar irradiance on inclined surfaces

A model of solar irradiance on arbitrarily oriented inclined surfaces is proposed, based on fuzzy logic procedures. The behavior of the proposed model is similar to that of other models of increased performance such as the models of Perez or Gueymard, though it requires only a very limited number of classes and adjustable parameters. The use of fuzzy clustering optimizes the number and definition of the sky categories. The model considers overlapping clusters and allows an improved description of the sky situations close to the transition zone between contiguous categories.

Checca’s canzona ‘Benedetto, maledetto’, the shortest number in "Il Flaminio" (1735) by Gennaro Antonio Federico and Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, has often been considered to be a direct quotation or a convincing inimitation of a popular song. In fact, its poetic text derives from the comedy "La Tancia" (1611) by Michelangelo Buonarroti the Younger. In both works the scene shows a therapeutic strategy adopted to stop a (presumed) epileptic seizure. Summary Study aim: to develop and estimate the validity of non-exercise methods to predict VO2max among young male conscripts entering military service in order to divide them into the different physical training groups. Material and methods: fifty males (age 19.7 ± 0.3 years) reported their physical activity before military service by IPAQ and SIVAQ questionnaires. Background. Walking is the most popular form of physical activity among older people and for community-dwelling older people walking for errands is especially important. The aim of this study is to examine the association between self-reported environmental mobility barriers and amount of walking for errands among older people who live alone compared to those who live with others.
