AbstractWe propose to consider semi-natural habitats—hotspots for biodiversity—being caught in a socio-ecological extinction vortex, similar to the phenomenon described for species threatened with extinction. These habitats are essentially socioecological systems, in which socioeconomic drivers are interlinked with ecological processes. Evidence of Genomic Instability in Campylobacter jejuni Isolated from Poultry

ABSTRACT Poultry isolates of Campylobacter jejuni derived from a survey of meat processing batches were genotyped by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) of chromosomal DNA to establish the clonal relationships between single-colony isolates. In the majority of batches studied, one or two genotype patterns predominated. However, in one batch (batch A), 21 single-colony isolates gave 14 different PFGE genotypes. The banding patterns obtained with Sma I were sufficiently different to distinguish between genotypes, although the patterns also produced many common bands. Šajā darbā ir apskatītas kognitīvās funkcijas, kurās ietilpst atmiņa, uzmanība, uztvere, vadības funkcijas un valoda, kā arī plašāk apskatīta epilepsija, tās ārstēšana, CSWS sindroms (epilepsija ar nepārtrauktiem smailajiem viļņiem miega laikā), kā arī epilepsijas saistība ar kognitīvajām funkcijām un UDHS (uzmanības deficīta un hiperaktivitātes sindroms). This paper is an integral part of a broader research that aims to reconstruct the artistic path of Ismail Kadare and to highlight the structural elements of the invented narrative world, renamed Ismailand by “Is my land”, to indicate its subjective and unmistakable connotations. The subject of the analysis is the intertextual network through which Kadare connects his works in a single diegetic framework, which acquires its own hermeneutic validity in support of the poor adherence to the practice of socialist realism in force in Albania during the years in which the author was writing.

Tutkielmassa tarkastellaan, miten kansallisesti määrittyneet, perinteiset suomalaisen maiseman visuaalisen esittämisen tavat suhteutuvat visuaalisiin representaatioihin nykysuomalaisista maisemista, ja millä tavoin nykysuomalaisten maisemien visuaalisen esittämisen tapa eroaa niistä. Lisäksi pohditaan, millaista voisi olla suomalaisen maiseman kansallinen visuaalinen esittäminen nykypäivän lähtökohdista.
