I molteplici aspetti della rappresentazione digitale riguardano anche le problematiche relative alla costruzione di una città smart in cui la comunicazione e la sua velocità di trasmissione sono diventati aspetti sostanziali della sua sintassi; app per tablet, mappe interattive, ricostruzioni digitali rendono più semplice la fruizione della città. Ci si chiede se la sola attenzione a queste componenti del disegno non rischi di allontanare la città dalla sua reale fruizione oppure se non sia necessaria una rappresentazione analitica preliminare che possa evidenziare futuri aspetti smart.

Considering tourism in the COVID-19 crisis as an emerging stream of research, the study also explores how African cities deployed smart tourism technologies and how effective it has been in creating resilient and safe destinations.
