Erosion of universal health coverage in Spain
2013
Whereas the recent UN resolution urges governments to accelerate progress towards universal access to affordable and quality health-care services, the Spanish Government, bypassing the parliamentary procedure, enacted a Royal Decree to limit access to free services at the point of delivery for all-undermining the principle of universal coverage. Spanish health and social service budgets have been subjected to large cuts (13,7% in 2012 and 16,2% in 2013) with some regions imposing additional budget cuts.

It is important to identify the specificity of Social Work in the Health Care System in order to consolidate Professional Identity from the homogeneity in the processes and procedures of intervention and the identification of the duties carried out by these professionals in the different health institutions/services of the Community of Valencia.

Commemorating a date, thus turning it into an emblematic day, can be considered a «rite of passage» which turns a private event into a public ceremony with a heightened symbolic value. Rites in Social Work are necessary to allow the growth of this profession, a young one barely one hundred years old, and to allow adaptation to new realities. - I Stortingsmelding nr. 13 (2011-2012) Utdanning for velferd. Samspill i praksis (Samspillsmeldingen) kap. 9.7.1 påpekes spesielt utfordringer innen utdanning til sosialfaglig arbeid og det å få tydeliggjort sosialfaglig felleskompetanse. Det er behov for endring innenfor hver av BSV-utdanningene og i samspillet mellom dem. Det ønskes bredere grunnutdanninger og mer tverrfaglig samarbeid. Det er nødvendig med flere faglige felleselementer og tverrprofesjonell samarbeidslæring, og den sosialfaglige kompetansen må styrkes. It shows that MFI rating is an important tool in achieving transparency. The study attempts to determine the relationship between social and financial indicators and the MFI rating grade. These indicators are chosen based on previous studies on ratings and microfinance. The data comes from ratings reports performed by five major MFI rating agencies: MicroRate, Planet Rating, Microfinanza, Crisil and M-Cril. Also available from the publisher at: http://www.idunn.no/ts/tnb/2011/03/art06 The article presents results from a qualitative study of parents benefits in participation in course given to parents whose children are placed in foster care. The participants describe changes that had occurred in their life situations, and aspects of the course evaluated as useful. Essential findings indicate that the participants have increased self-confidence and regard their children in a new way. Foucault’s concepts of Power are applied in the analysis.
