Flerkulturelle familier i møte med barnevernets undersøkelse : erfaringer, muligheter og utfordringer

Masteroppgave i velferdsstudier - Universitetet i Agder 2013 Denne masteroppgaven handler om barnevernets undersøkelse i flerkulturelle familier. Det er en kvalitativ undersøkelse basert på intervju. Til sammen har jeg intervjuet åtte personer, to ungdommer, en far og to mødre, samt tre barnevernsarbeidere. Følgende problemstillinger utforskes i oppgaven: - Hvordan opplever flerkulturelle familier barnevernets undersøkelse? - Hvilke muligheter og utfordringer opplever barnevernsarbeidere når de gjennomfører undersøkelse i flerkulturelle familier? Masteroppgave i velferdsstudier – Universitetet i Agder 2014 Hensikten med denne studien har vært å skaffe til veie kunnskap om hvilken betydning det har å være barn av foreldre som er beredskapshjem. Det er barnas egne beskrivelser, deres opplevelser og stemme jeg søker å formidle. Gjennom tidene har barnevernets anvendelse av tiltak endret seg i tråd med utvikling av nye lover og kunnskap. En senere tid er preget av en dreining fra institusjonsbruk til løsninger i private hjem. Det støttes barnevernfaglig og politisk ved en antakelse om at baren har det best ved å bo i «vanlige» familier. Tallet på barn plassert i beredskapshjem har økt de siste årene. Recognising forced migrants in transnational social work

PurposeNation states’ neoliberal policies do not regard asylum seekers and undocumented migrants as deserving of a good life. Social work in welfare states is highly connected to the policies of nation states. There is a need to address theories in social work that have a transnational focus at the local level. Axel Honneth’s recognition theory enables an approach to forced migration from the direction of personal relations and personhood itself. The core idea is that if people cannot gain recognition, this causes harm to their self-realisation.
