Documentation is an integral part of social work. It is a tool in client work, and it also has an accountability perspective. Documentation helps the practitioners to evaluate their own work and makes it possible to assess the impact of work and develop practices. Artykuł podejmuje problematykę rodzin zastępczych w kontekście pracy socjalnej realizowanej na ich rzecz przez instytucje wspierające, głownie powiatowe centrum pomocy i ośrodki pomocy społecznej. Jako partnerzy instytucje te wraz z reformą systemu pomocy rodzinie i dziecku, zostały zobowiązane do udzielania pomocy rodzinie zastępczej w przezwyciężaniu trudności w opiece nad powierzonymi dziećmi. W artykule podjęto próbę ukazania zakresu działań instytucji pomocy społecznej oraz ich kompetencje i możliwości w zakresie udzielania rodzinom zastępczym pomocy i wsparcia.
Childhood reproduced: images of childhood represented in children's daily lives in home and day-care settings

ABSTRACTThis study explores images of childhood by analysing children's pictorial representations and accompanying captions. The focus is on how children together with adults represent childhood in the home and daycare settings in a oneweek diary study. The key analytical tool was framing, which is used to highlight what kinds of images are (re)produced and narrated. The frames that emerged were (1) portrayal of the child via cultural products and societal relations, (2) portrayal of the child via individuality, relationships and attachment, (3) the child as a symbol of capabilities, and (4) the child as a learner. Misunderstanding Situations in Culture and Cultural Care

This article focuses on cultural misunderstanding in care relations, starting from the analysis of the effects misunderstanding causes in the relation between doctor and migrant patient. The Western medical model tends to be based on objective data, which can be diagnosed through more and more precise and detailed techniques, but it excludes human and cultural aspects of subjectivity and relation from care. This exclusion creates distance, which increases when doctor and patient do not share a cultural homogeneity but differ for their language and the way they conceive their body, health, and disease.
