This paper focuses on design issues to be faced when developing knowledge management (KM) applications based on the integration of peer-to-peer and multi-agent technologies. The reasons for using these technologies rest on the requirements posed by the specific KM paradigm that has been adopted, which emphasizes aspects such as autonomy and distribution of knowledge sources. The suppression of noises is fundamental in onsite Partial Discharge (PD) measurements. For this purpose, the wavelet transform analysis method has been developed and it is a powerful tool for processing the transient and suddenly changing signals. As the wavelet transform possesses the properties of multi-scale analysis and time-frequency domain localization, it is also particularly suitable to process the suddenly changing signals of the partial discharge pulse (PD). Software Design of an AGI System Based on Perception Loop

According to the externalist approach, subjective experience hypothesizes a processual unity between the activity in the brain and the perceived event in the external world. A perception loop therefore occurs among the brain's activitie8 and the external world. In our work the metaphor of test is employed to create a software de8ign methodology for implementing an AGI system endowed with the perception loop. Preliminary experiments with a NAO humanoid robots are reported.

This paper introduces the multimodal extension of the eXtensible Presentation architecture and Language (XPL), a framework aimed at streamlining multi-channel interface design process and enabling full component reuse. The use of design patterns proved successful in lowering the development time and number of errors when producing software with the object-oriented paradigm. In previous works we engaged the production of a tool for the reuse of patterns for multi-agent systems. Now we are fronting a new problem: automatic code generation for agents, designed with a specific methodology, with the support of design patterns and using an aspect oriented approach. In this work we present our preliminary experiences in the identification, description, production and use of aspects for multi agent systems and a tool for code production.

Segmentation techniques based on active contours algorithm are widely used in medical imaging. Unfortunately, they require a lot of parameters to be used and this can rep- resent an issue for those physicians with not much informatics skills. This paper proposes a software tool which allows to segment multiple slice can differ organ extraction setting a small number of parameters. Moreover, the tool offers the functionality to perform a multiple segmentation the same time, so that an entire volume composed by hundreds slices can be segmented.
