The study of the hydraulic preparations of Phoenician-Punic Sicily constitutes a field of investigation alas problematic, especially with regard to the evidence related to the archaic-classical period. Not we know, for example, hydraulic works of a certain engineering commitment comparable to the oldest aqueducts of Tyre known from the sources 2 or the great Greek hydraulic infrastructures of the archaic era 3. Il contributo intende illustrare i risultati che è possibile raggiungere nell’esaminare dal punto di vista archeometrico precise forme ceramiche – e non semplici frammenti – a vernice nera, integrando le osservazioni di natura tipologica con i dati ottenuti dalla caratterizzazione mineralogica, petrografica e chimica degli impasti. Nel presente lavoro sono riportati i dati relativi alla caratterizzazione di suoli prelevati nell’area perimetrale del sito archeologico di Solunto ed utilizzati per la riproduzione di mattoni in “terra cruda” confrontabili con quelli di età ellenistico - romana in opera in diverse unità abitative dell’insediamento. L’obiettivo di questo studio è, pertanto, quello di verificare l’area di provenienza delle materie prime originariamente utilizzate per la manifattura dei mattoni soluntini e di predisporre la base per una successiva sperimentazione atta alla valutazione dell’efficacia di procedure e prodotti per il futuro consolidamento delle strutture murarie del sito archeologico. Ettore Gabrici, who first excavated the structure located in the northwest corner of Solunto’s agora in 1920-21, identified the remains as part of a thermal bath, despite missing some of the key elements which usually characterize this type of buildings (hypocaust, praefurnium, heating pipes). After the re-examination of the architectural elements, this paper suggests a different interpretation which takes into account archaeological evidences from the broader Mediterranean context (especially from Sicily and the Punic world). Una statua recentemente ricomposta nell'Antiquarium di Solunto, ad un esame dettagliato, risulta essere un assemblaggio di parti pertinenti in origine ad almeno due statue improntate al cd. tipo della Kore di Prassitele, una delle quali pare avere inoltre subito la sostituzione del ritratto originario con una nuova effigie femminile. Lo studio iconografico-stilistico consente di riconoscere nel ritratto attualmente preservato, in piccola parte, sulla fronte Agrippina Maggiore e nel frammento posteriore un'effigie ugualmente di età neroniana. AR/VR Contextualization of the Statue of Zeus from Solunto

The aim of the research is to test how VR and AR technologies can contribute to a virtuous reconnection between the museums, where archaeological works of art are exhibited, and the sites where these works come from. The connection between the museum and the site will be operated with panoramic images generated with SfM photogrammetric tools; these images will set up a twofold reconnection: i) between the work of art and the building where it was hosted; ii) between the building and the site, with the landscape around.
